Change things from this point on\n\n=================================\nOpenStack Identity Specifications\n=================================\n\nThis git repository is used to hold approved design specifications for additions\nto the Keystone project. Reviews of the specs are done in gerrit, using a\nsimilar workflow to how we review and merge changes to the code itself.\n\nThe layout of this repository for Keystone specifications is::\n\n  specs/\u003crelease\u003e/\n\nThe layout of this repository for Keystone Client is::\n\n  specs/keystoneclient/\n\nWhen a release of Keystone Client is cut, the implemented blueprints will be\nmoved to a directory specific to that release::\n\n  specs/keystoneclient/\u003crelease\u003e/\n\nYou can find an example spec in ``specs/template.rst``.\n\nFor specifications that have been reviewed and approved but have not been\nimplemented::\n\n  specs/backlog/\n\nSpecifications in this directory indicate the original author has either\nbecome unavailable, or has indicated that they are not going to implement the\nspecification. The specifications found here are available as projects for\npeople looking to get involved with Keystone. If you are interested in\nclaiming a spec, start by posting a review for the specification that moves it\nfrom this directory to the next active release. Please set yourself as the new\n`primary assignee` and maintain the original author in the `other contributors`\nlist.\n\nSpecifications are proposed for a given release by adding them to the\n``specs/\u003crelease\u003e`` directory and posting it for review.  Not all approved\nblueprints will get fully implemented. The implementation status of a blueprint\nfor a given release can be found by looking at the blueprint in Launchpad::\n\n  http://blueprints.launchpad.net/keystone/\u003cblueprint-name\u003e\n\n.. WARNING::\n\n    Specifications not accepted by the second milestone of a release will not\n    be targeted for that release without an explicit exception granted. To\n    request an exception, send an email to the developer mailing list with the\n    details of the specification, why it should be accepted after the deadline,\n    and any supporting documentation (e.g. proof of concept code) that will\n    indicate to the core team it will be completed before feature freeze.\n\nIncomplete specifications have to be re-proposed for every release.  The review\nmay be quick, but even if something was previously approved, it should be\nre-reviewed to make sure it still makes sense as written.\n\nPrior to the Juno development cycle, this repository was not used for spec\nreviews.  Reviews prior to Juno were completed entirely through Launchpad\nblueprints::\n\n  http://blueprints.launchpad.net/keystone\n\nPlease note, Launchpad blueprints are still used for tracking the\ncurrent status of blueprints.
