The shift buttons next to the display grant access to a variety of per-sequence settings.\n\nFor example, by holding **Shift 1** and turning the **SEQ1 STEP1** potentiometer, you can adjust the gate length for **all steps** within **SEQ1**. The available values will be shown on the display within the shift menu.\n\nA potential drawback, though not a dealbreaker, is that after releasing the shift button, you must return the potentiometer to its original position to maintain the sequence's intended state.\n\nHere are some ideas for the shift functions:\n\n* Gate length\n* Sequence length\n* Glide\n* Step select\n* Play direction (including chain instances)\n* Voltage range (0-1V, 0-2V, 0-3V)\n* Quantizer\n* Auto-reset (jumps to step 1 when the incoming clock pauses)\n* Clock division\n* Chain instances\n* Octave shift\n* Inactive step skip\n* Step repeat\n* Ratcheting\n* Sequence start\n* Probability\n* Vibrato\n    * Speed\n    * Amplitude\n    * Waveform\n* Reset all (activated by a simultaneous 3-second press)\n    \n\n\n## Planned panel layout\n```\n┌───────────────────────────────────────────────┐\n│ ○                                           ○ │\n│                                               │\n│╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮│   SEQUENCE1\n││ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● ││   8 Potentiometer\n│╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯│\n│  ○     ○     ○     ○     ○     ●     ○     ○  │   8 indicator LEDS (playhead)\n│  ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬  │\n│  ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴  │   8 Switches step ON/OFF\n│                                               │\n│╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮ ╭───╮│   SEQUENCE2\n││ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● │ │ ● ││   8 Potentiometer\n│╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯ ╰───╯│\n│  ○     ○     ○     ○     ○     ●     ○     ○  │   8 indicator LEDS (playhead)\n│  ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬     ┬  │\n│  ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴     ┴  │   8 Switches step ON/OFF\n│┌─────────┐        SEQUENCE1      SEQUENCE2    │\n││ DISPLAY │ ●     ○   ○  ├──┤    ○   ○  ├──┤   │   2 momentary switches next to the display\n││ 128x64  │                                    │   (shift functions for each sequence)\n│└─────────┘ ●     ○   ○          ○   ○         │   \n│ ○                                           ○ │\n└───────────────────────────────────────────────┘\n\n\n  both sequence I/O\n  \n     CLK IN    CV OUT    BOOST  (switch to 10V CV output)\n       ○         ○       ├──┤  \n    \n\n       ○         ○\n     RST IN   GATE OUT           All 4 jacks should have indicator LEDS\n```\n\n## Parts\n### Arduino\nArduino MEGA has all required digital and analog pins onboard. it also should fit below the frontpanel.  \nIn case we use a Nano or similar we would need to extend the existing pins with\n - MCP23017 (16 additional digital pins)\n - CD4051 (8 additional analog pins)\n \n### 2-channel DAC \nMCP4822 seems to be suitable\n\n### 4 channel op amp\nLM324N\n\n### 8 jacks\nhttps://www.3u-shop.de/p/3-5mm-monobuchse-50-stueck  \nhttps://www.uk-electronic.de/onlineshop/product_info.php?products_id=4868  \n\n### 16 Potentiometer\nhttps://www.digikey.at/en/products/detail/bourns-inc/PTV09A-4025U-B103/3781137\n\n### Display\nSSD1306 https://www.az-delivery.de/en/products/0-96zolldisplay\n\n### Leds\n24 x https://www.reichelt.at/at/de/shop/produkt/flat-led_5mm_rot_350_mcd_120_-363941\n\n### Switches\n18 x https://www.reichelt.at/at/de/shop/produkt/miniatur-kippschalter_ein-ein_3_a_250_v-285987\n\n### 2 Buttons / momentary switches\n\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fothmar52%2Feurorack-step-sequencer-2x8","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fothmar52%2Feurorack-step-sequencer-2x8","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fothmar52%2Feurorack-step-sequencer-2x8/lists"}
