mux\n\nPackage mux implements HTTP application lifecycle helpers.\n\n## Overview\n\nThis package centers around the `Handler`, a flexible implementation of the\nstandard `http.Handler` interface that is so much more than a HTTP request\nmultiplexer, but less than a framework.\n\nUse of this package gives you the following:\n\n- request router/dispatcher\n- middleware (top-level and per-route)\n- automatic HEAD responses\n- automatic OPTIONS responses\n- 400 Bad Request responses on decode errors\n- 405 Method Not Allowed responses\n- 406 Not Acceptable plain text error\n- 415 Unsupported Media Type responses on content type errors\n- 422 Unprocessable Entity responses on form validation errors\n- 500 Internal Server Error responses on panic\n- response buffer pool to eliminate partially rendered responses\n- request identifiers for instrumentation\n- locale detection for internationalization\n- export routes to static files\n- request observer hooks\n- health check handler\n\nIndividual components of this package are customizable and/or replaceable where\npossible. Application structure is not imposed. Defaults for a greenfield JSON\nAPI are preconfigured.\n\nRoute patterns are mapped to by a `Router`. The `Router` may also be a\n`Builder` or `Walker` for additional functionality.\n\n`HandlerFunc`s are like `http.HandlerFunc`s but return `error`s that are\nresolved to HTTP error responses through a `Resolver` that transforms `error`s\nto `Error` views. The error views are encoded and written as a response.\n\nThe error views are encoded with `Encode`, also available for use within\n`HandlerFunc`s for any encoded response. The handler can be configured with an\n`EncoderFunc` that negotiates an `Encoder` from an incoming HTTP request. The\ndefault matches on `Accept` header media types. A request that fails to\nnegotiate an encoder will be served a plain text HTTP 406 Not Acceptable error.\n\nUse `Decode` to decode incoming request data to a validated data structure.\nThe handler can be configured with a `DecoderFunc` that negotiates a `Decoder`\nfrom an incoming HTTP request. The default matches `Content-Type` headers. A\nrequest that fails to negotiate a decoder will be served a HTTP 415 Unsupported\nMedia Type error, encoded with the negotiated encoder.\n\nThe unique request identifier can be retrieved with `RequestID`. This may be\nuseful for implementing custom `Logger`s or `Error` views.\n\nThe detected locale can be retrieved with `Locale`.
