collection of complementary tools for\ndeveloping applications for the massively-parallel\n`SpiNNaker \u003chttp://apt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/projects/SpiNNaker/\u003e`_ architecture.\nFirst and foremost, Rig aims to present a light-weight, well tested and well\ndocumented interface for SpiNNaker application developers.\n\nQuick-start\n-----------\n\nThe latest stable release can be installed Developers\nare encouraged to use whatever subset of these tools they consider useful.\n\nThe utilities provided by Rig can be broken down approximately as follows:\n\n* Data packaging for SpiNNaker\n\n  * ``type_casts``: conversion functions between common\n    Python and Numpy data types and the fixed-point types used by SpiNNaker.\n  * ``bitfield.BitField``: an abstraction for flexibly defining routing keys\n    for SpiNNaker applications ranging from the trivial to those involving\n    multiple external devices with conflicting routing key formats.\n\n* Graph-to-machine mapping\n\n  * ``place_and_route``: a suite of algorithms for mapping graph-like problems\n    onto the SpiNNaker hardware, allocating on-chip resources and generating\n    routing tables.\n  * ``routing_table``: a suite of algorithms for minimising and analysing\n    SpiNNaker's multicast routing tables.\n  * ``geometry``: utility functions for working with SpiNNaker's hexagonal\n    torus topology.\n\n* Execution control and machine management\n\n  * ``machine_control.MachineController``: a high-level interface to SpiNNaker\n    machines. Can be used to boot machines, load and control applications,\n    and more.\n  * ``machine_control.BMPController``: a high-level interface to the\n    Board Management Processors (BMPs) found in large SpiNNaker\n    installations.
