This project is the continuation of the idea posted in the Filecoin Green Tools repo: \u003ca href=\"https://github.com/protocol/FilecoinGreen-tools/blob/main/0006-FGTP-CO2_Storage.md\"\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cu\u003e0006-FGTP-CO2_Storage\u003c/u\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/a\u003e.\n\nThis data upload utility maps inputs to base data schemas (\u003ca href=\"https://ipld.io/\"\u003e\u003cu\u003eIPLD\u003c/u\u003e\u003c/a\u003e DAGs) for off-chain data (like metadata, images, attestation documents, and other assets) to promote the development of standard data schemas for environmental assets. By uploading the data to Filecoin and pinning to IPFS, rich data describing offsets is made available for analysis.\n\nWith IPLD DAGs, data is \u003ca href=\"https://nftschool.dev/concepts/content-addressing\"\u003e\u003cu\u003econtent addressed\u003c/u\u003e\u003c/a\u003e using IPFS, meaning the URI pointing to a piece of data (“ipfs://…”) is completely unique to that data (using a content identifier, or CID). CIDs can be used for environmental assets and metadata to ensure the asset forever actually refers to the intended data (eliminating things like double counting, and making it trustlessly verifiable what content an asset is associated with). These standard, content addressed, data schemas will also enable more seamless cross-referencing for missing data and meta-analysis of different assets/credits, as well as help expedite the development of new forms of methodologies, supply, and marketplaces.\n\nThis project is in \u003ca href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Alpha\"\u003e\u003cu\u003ealpha\u003c/u\u003e\u003c/a\u003e, and while many features can be considered stable, we are waiting until we are feature complete to fully launch.
