It is based\non a [similar\nplugin](https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/blob/master/share/extensions/polyhedron_3d.py)\nbut offers the possibility to use *vertex colours* that are included in\nthe mesh. This makes the plugin suitable when additional information\nsuch as vertex quality or\n[curvature](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curvature) have to be\nvisualized.\n\nThe plugin was originally developed to obtain publication-quality vector\ngraphics for my dissertation. Please refer to [this blog\npost](http://bastian.rieck.me/blog/posts/2018/3d_polyhedra) for more\ndetails.\n\n# Installation instructions\n\n* Clone this repository\n* Create the path `$HOME/.config/inkscape/extensions` if it does not\n  already exist\n* Close Inkscape\n* Copy the files `polyhedron_3d_vertex_colours.py` and `polyhedron_3d_vertex_colours.inx` into this directory\n* Reopen Inkscape\n* Enjoy your new plugin, which you can find under *Extensions\u0026ndash;Render*\n\nFor more information about installing extensions, please refer to the\n[official Inkscape wiki](https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/%3Dextension).\n\n# Usage\n\nCall the plugin from the *Extensions* menu in Inkscape.
