Versions\n\nThis software package is written for Python 3+.\n\n## Installation\n\nTo install from PyPi:\n\n```sh\n$ pip install py-licor [--upgrade]\n```\n\nTo install directly from GitHub:\n\n```sh\n\n$ pip install git+https://github.com/quant-aq/py-licor.git\n```\n\nYou can also download and install from source:\n\n```sh\n\npython setup.py install\n```\n\n## Documentation\n\nThere isn't any real documentation yet...but for now, there are only a few commands:\n\nTo setup a connection:\n\n```python\n\nimport licor\n\ndev1 = licor.Licor840()\n\n# set the port\ndev1.port = \"/dev/tty.USA19H142P1.1\"\n\n# begin the connection\ndev1.connect()\n\n# read a line\ndev1.read()\n```\n\nA successfull read will return a dictionary with the data - if it fails, it will return an empty dictionary. At any point, you can reset the port and re-connect. You can also set the default timeout using the `timeout` attribute of the Licor840 class. That's it!
