Features and implementation are subject to change.**\n\n----\n\n## Prerequisites\n\nJupyter notebook version 4.2 or later. To check the notebook version:\n\n```bash\njupyter notebook --version\n```\n\n### Supported Runtimes\n\nThe runtime versions which are currently *known to work*:\n\n- Firefox 49+\n- Chrome 39+\n- Safari 10+\n\nEarlier browser versions may also work, but come with no guarantees.\n\nQuantLab uses CSS Variables for styling, which is one reason for the\nminimum versions listed above.  IE 11+ or Edge 14 do not support\nCSS Variables, and are not directly supported at this time.\nA tool like [postcss](http://postcss.org/) can be used to convert the CSS files in the\n`quantlab/build` directory manually if desired.\n\n----\n\n## Installation\n\nIf you use ``conda``, you can install as:\n\n```bash\nconda install -c conda-forge quantlab\n```\n\nIf you use ``pip``, you can install it as:\n\n```bash\npip install quantlab\njupyter serverextension enable --py quantlab --sys-prefix\n```\n\nStart up QuantLab:\n\n```bash\njupyter quantlab\n```\n\nQuantLab will open automatically in your browser. You may also access\nQuantLab by entering the notebook server's URL (`http://localhost:8888`) in\nthe browser.\n\nInstructions on how to install the project from the git sources are available in our [contributor documentation](CONTRIBUTING.md).\n\nNote: If installing using `pip install --user`, you must add the user-level\n `bin` directory to your `PATH` environment variable in order to launch\n `jupyter quantlab`.\n\n\n## Extensions\n\nThe QuantLab environment can be extended using extensions.
