A second chance at Genesis.\n\n**CPU-mineable · Fair launch · Pure proof-of-work · No presale · No insiders · No premine**\n\n\u003e Block Zero rebuilds the moment Bitcoin began — when anyone could open a laptop,\n\u003e point it at the network, and mine real blocks. Same battle-tested Bitcoin Core\n\u003e engine, but with a proof-of-work that keeps ASIC and GPU farms out, so the\n\u003e people mining are people, not warehouses.\n\n---\n\n## Official links\n\n| | |\n|---|---|\n| **Website** | https://bloz.org |\n| **Pool** | https://pool.bloz.org *(test release)* |\n| **Explorer** | https://explorer.bloz.org · testnet: https://texplorer.bloz.org |\n| **Bridge** | https://bridge.bloz.org |\n| **Discord** | https://discord.gg/FbJzrwAU2W |\n| **X (Twitter)** | https://x.com/BlockZeroBLOZ |\n| **Full list** | [official-links.md](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-docs/blob/main/official-links.md) |\n\n**Mainnet seed:** `217.160.46.61:8210`\n\n\u003e **Warning:** Copycat sites (e.g. `.cc` domains) and third-party pools are **not affiliated** with Block Zero — we have no insight into their code and accept **no liability** for malware, wrong-chain mining, fraud, or unfair pool payouts. [Read the full warning →](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-docs/blob/main/official-links.md#warning-copycat-sites--unofficial-services)\n\n---\n\n## What Block Zero is\n\nBlock Zero is an **independent layer-1 blockchain** built on the **Bitcoin Core v31**\ncodebase. It keeps everything that makes Bitcoin solid — the UTXO model, script,\nSegWit, Taproot, the wallet, the P2P network — and changes exactly one thing that\nmatters for fairness: **how blocks are mined**.\n\nInstead of SHA-256 (which today only specialized ASIC machines can mine\nprofitably), Block Zero uses **RandomX** proof-of-work — the same CPU-optimized\nalgorithm used by Monero. RandomX is built to run fast on a normal computer's CPU\nand *badly* on ASICs and GPUs. The result:\n\n- **Your everyday PC is competitive again.** No mining rig, no datacenter.\n- **No head start for anyone.** The chain was launched and mined openly from block 1 — no premine, no presale, no team allocation.\n- **It feels like 2009.** Download the node, start mining, earn blocks. The way Bitcoin worked before industrial mining took over.\n\nThis is **not** Bitcoin and not a token on someone else's chain. It is a fresh\nchain with its own genesis block, its own rules, and its own coin: **BLOZ**.\n\n---\n\n## Why ASICs (and GPU farms) have no chance\n\n| | SHA-256 (Bitcoin today) | RandomX (Block Zero) |\n|---|---|---|\n| Best hardware | Purpose-built **ASIC** machines | A normal **CPU** |\n| Who can mine | Industrial farms | Anyone with a computer |\n| ASIC advantage | Enormous | Practically none — RandomX needs a CPU's large cache, fast memory and general-purpose instructions, which ASICs can't cheaply replicate |\n| GPU advantage | High | Low — RandomX is memory-hard and branch-heavy, hostile to GPUs |\n\nRandomX continuously executes randomized programs that depend on a multi-megabyte\ndataset in fast memory. A general-purpose CPU does this naturally; building an ASIC\nfor it would essentially mean building a CPU. **That is the whole point** —\nmining stays in the hands of ordinary people.\n\n---\n\n## Chain parameters\n\n| Property | Value |\n|---|---|\n| **Consensus engine** | Bitcoin Core v31 (UTXO, SegWit, Taproot) |\n| **Proof-of-work** | RandomX (CPU-friendly, ASIC/GPU-resistant) |\n| **Block time** | 10 minutes (target) |\n| **Difficulty retarget** | every **72 blocks** (~12 hours) — adapts quickly to hashrate |\n| **Initial block reward** | **50 BLOZ** |\n| **Halving** | every **210,000 blocks** (~4 years) |\n| **Maximum supply** | **21,000,000 BLOZ** |\n| **Coinbase maturity** | 100 blocks |\n| **Smallest unit** | 1 BLOZ = 100,000,000 base units (8 decimals) |\n| **Ticker** | **BLOZ** (mainnet) · **TBLOZ** (testnet) |\n| **Address prefix (bech32)** | `bz` (mainnet) · `tbz` (testnet) |\n| **P2P port** | 8210 (mainnet) · 18210 (testnet) |\n| **RPC port** | 8211 (mainnet) · 18211 (testnet) |\n\n### Emission\n\nBlock Zero mirrors Bitcoin's disciplined, predictable issuance: a fixed\n**21,000,000 BLOZ** cap, reached through halvings. Every 210,000 blocks the block\nreward halves (50 → 25 → 12.5 → …), so the supply curve and scarcity behave exactly\nlike Bitcoin's — only the mining hardware is different.\n\n### Genesis\n\n- **Mainnet genesis:** `44c1a8c852b3eda21966e1ddb6b0807e22488dffe8a270bf24bf1fa2d66c13bd` (launch 2026-06-06 06:06:06 UTC)\n- **Testnet genesis:** `7462293eec16a92c54a74362af6825688135e2955250024dcc3668ff4f55cfce` (see [artifacts/genesis/testnet.json](artifacts/genesis/testnet.json))\n\n---\n\n## Start mining (mainnet)\n\nMine **BLOZ** on the live mainnet — your CPU, your blocks.\n\n**Prebuilt binaries:** [Releases](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-core/releases)\n(node `bitcoind`, CLI `bitcoin-cli`, and the GUI wallet `bitcoin-qt`)\n\n**One-click setup (Windows):**\n\n```powershell\ngit clone https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-ops.git\ncd blockzero-ops\\scripts\\testnet\n.\\install-windows.ps1\ncd ..\\mainnet\n.\\mine-mainnet.ps1 -Status # sync to the public seed first\n.\\mine-mainnet.ps1 # mine\n```\n\n**Public seed:** `217.160.46.61:8210` · **Block explorer:** https://explorer.bloz.org\n\n**GUI wallet (`bitcoin-qt`):** download from [Releases](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-core/releases). v1.0.0-rc10+ embeds the seed as a fixed peer; on older builds add `addnode=217.160.46.61:8210` to `%LOCALAPPDATA%\\BlockZeroMainnet\\bitcoin.conf` — see [blockzero-wallet](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-wallet).\n\nTestnet (TBLOZ) remains available for development — see [blockzero-docs/quickstart-mining.md](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-docs/blob/main/quickstart-mining.md#testnet-optional).\n\n---\n\n## Build from source\n\n```bash\ngit clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-core.git\ncd blockzero-core\ncmake -B build\ncmake --build build -j$(nproc) --target bitcoind bitcoin-cli bitcoin-qt\n```\n\nSee [doc/build-unix.md](doc/build-unix.md) and [doc/build-windows-msvc.md](doc/build-windows-msvc.md).\n\n---\n\n## Repositories\n\n| Repo | Purpose |\n|------|---------|\n| **blockzero-core** (here) | Node, consensus, RandomX proof-of-work |\n| [blockzero-docs](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-docs) | Guides, specs, status |\n| [blockzero-ops](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-ops) | Mining scripts, seed node, explorer |\n| [blockzero-wallet](https://github.com/Rexemre/blockzero-wallet) | Wallet (in development) |\n\n---\n\n## Status\n\n- **Mainnet — live.** Launched 2026-06-06 06:06:06 UTC.
