The plan is to start out small and basic, get down a solid design, and slowly integrate new features with whatever technologies I'd like to learn.\n\nPartially inspired by Drew Roper's [annual music collection](http://2015.drewroper.com).\n\n## Roadmap\n- [x] Static HTML site with a solid design.\n- [x] Dynamically generated site from a JSON file.\n- [ ] Basic API serving static data (Rails or Express).\n- [ ] Refactor SCSS to remove all !important tags.\n- [ ] RESTful API with persistent data in Postgres.\n- [ ] Client side admin with authentication.\n- [ ] ???\n\n## Resources\n- Use [HTML5 semantic elements](http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_semantic_elements.asp) when appropriate.\n- Follow [RSCSS](http://rscss.io/index.html).\n- Follow the [AirBnB JS style guide](https://github.com/airbnb/javascript).\n- Use [Colors.cc](http://clrs.cc) for improved colors.\n\n## Potential Books\n### Currently Reading:\n\n- Shadow of the Hedgemon — Orson Scott Card\n- The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy — William B. Irving\n- The Republic — Plato (Supposedly the best of Plato's works, we all talk about him but I've never actually read anything by him so decided to go for it)\n- Eloquent Javascript — Marijn Haverbeke\n- The Myth of Sisyphus — Albert Camus\n- The Unbearable Lightness of Being — Milan Kundera\n- Trust Me, I'm Lying — Ryan Holiday\n- The Signal and the Noise — Nate Silver\n- The Singularity is Near — Ray Kurzweil\n- A Short History of Nearly Everything — Bill Bryson\n- Infinite Jest — David Foster Wallace (This is a long yet fascinating read)\n- Bird by Bird — Anne Lamott\n- The Power of Habit — Charles Duhigg\n\n### Plan to Read:\n\n- Pulp — Charles Bukowski\n- 1984 — George Orwell\n- A Brief History of Time — Stephen Hawking\n- The Happiness of Pursuit — Shimon Edelman\n- Meditations — Marcus Aurelius\n\n### All-Time Favorites:\n\n- Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance — Robert M. Pirsig (One of my favorite ever)\n- The Goldfinch — Donna Tartt (Also top 3 material)\n- Flowers for Algernon — Daniel Keyes (Terrifyingly emotional book, very touching)\n- How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia — Mohsin Hamid\n- The Alchemist — Paulo Coelho\n- The Art of War — Sun Tzu\n- Vagabonding — Rolf Potts\n- Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki — Haruki Murakami\n- Brave New World — Aldous Huxley (Worth reading for the last few dozen pages alone, although the whole thing is fantastic)\n- Speaker for the Dead — Orson Scott Card (Arguably a better book than the already fantastic Ender's Game)\n\n### The Archive (Most to Least Recent):\n\n- Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card (I've read this book many, many times, but am now going through the whole series)\n- Principia Discordia — Malaclypse the Younger (Very strange and humorous read)\n- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? — Philip K. Dick\n\n- Essentialism — Greg McKeown\n- Ready Player One — Ernest Cline\n- The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao — Junot Díaz\n- Kitchen Confidential — Anthony Bourdain\n- Outliers — Malcolm Gladwell (I've read a lot of criticism about Gladwell online, but decided to read Outliers to judge for myself. It was a great read! Not as much reliance on anecdotal evidence as criticizers had claimed)\n- The Martian — Andy Weird\n\n- Zero to One — Peter Thiel\n- Cat's Cradle — Kurt Vonnegut\n- Growth Hacker Marketing — Ryan Holiday\n- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy — Douglas Adams\n- The Three-Body Problem — Cixin Lee\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Frobertbenjamin%2Fbooks","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Frobertbenjamin%2Fbooks","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Frobertbenjamin%2Fbooks/lists"}
