It's an essential bridge between your Sigma cameras and your preferred editing suite. We aim to support all Sigma Merrill and Quattro cameras and are actively looking for additional test files to improve compatibility.\n\n## System Requirements\n\n- macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later\n- Intel or Apple Silicon\n\n## Installation\n\n### Option 1: Download Release\n\n1. Download the latest .zip from the [Releases](https://github.com/sagwaco/x3fuse/releases) page\n2. Extract the .zip file and move the `X3Fuse.app` to your Applications folder.\n3. Launch `X3Fuse.app` from your Applications folder.\n\n### Option 2: Build from Source\n\n1. Clone the repository:\n   ```bash\n   git clone https://github.com/sagwaco/x3fuse.git\n   cd x3fuse\n   ```\n2. Open `X3Fuse.xcodeproj` in Xcode\n3. Build and run the project (⌘+R)\n\n## Scripts\n\n### verify_universal_build.sh\n\n```bash\n./scripts/verify_universal_build.sh\n```\n\nThis script verifies that the app and its components are properly built as universal binaries. It checks the architecture of the main app executable and any embedded binaries, ensuring they support both Intel and Apple Silicon architectures.\n\n## Usage\n\n1. **Launch X3Fuse** from your Applications folder\n\n2. **Add Files**:\n   - Drag and drop X3F files onto the app window\n   - Or use File → Open to browse for files\n\n3. **Configure Settings**:\n   - Choose your output format (DNG, TIFF, or JPEG)\n   - Set output directory preferences\n   - Adjust conversion options as needed\n\n4. **Convert**:\n   - Click the Convert button to start processing\n   - Monitor progress in the queue view\n   - Converted files will be saved to your specified location\n\n## Known Issues\n\n#### Compatibility issues with RAW decoders (Quick Look, Capture One, etc.)\n\nFoveon cameras do not have a color filter array (CFA) like most other cameras, and the lack of a CFA, among other differences, can cause some applications to misinterpret the RAW data. If you encounter this issue, please use an alternative viewer or editor to confirm the integrity of the DNG files. The files should open correctly in applications that use Adobe Camera RAW (Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop).\n\n#### Compatibility issues when DNG RAW compression is enabled\n\nDNGs that were created with the **RAW compression** setting enabled have reduced compatibility and may not open reliably in applications that do not use the Capture One or Adobe Camera Raw (Photoshop, Lightroom) decoders. If you encounter this issue, try disabling RAW compression in the application settings.\n\n#### Compatibility issues when DNG Merrill highlight recovery is enabled\n\nDNGs that were created with the **Merrill highlight recovery** setting enabled have reduced compatibility and may not open reliably in applications that do not use LibRaw or Adobe Camera Raw (Photoshop, Lightroom) decoders. If you encounter issues, try disabling Merrill highlight recovery in the application settings.\n\n#### X3I files not supported\n\nX3I files generated in Quattro Super fine detail (SFD) mode are not supported. A workaround is to shoot several exposure bracketed images as X3Fs and then use X3Fuse to convert them to DNG.
