We made this\ndecision for a number of reasons. The most important one being\nthat WHMCS often includes old and insecure libraries.\n\nThe second reason is about PHP itself. Composer ensures you get\nthe right dependency for your PHP version. We don't want to force\nyou into a certain PHP version. Composer gives you this flexibility.\n\nIf Composer is not for you, you can get the latest release from\n[our releases page](https://github.com/sensson/whmcs-moneybird/releases).\nThis is unsupported right now.\n\n## Installation\n\n* Run `composer install`;\n* Upload all files to `modules/addons/moneybird/` (if it doesn't exist, create it).\n\n### Cron\n\nConfigure a cronjob to run every 5 minutes.\n\n`php -q /path/to/whmcs/modules/addons/moneybird/cron.php`\n\nThe cron is disabled by default. It can be managed through the addon\nsettings in Setup \u003e Addon Modules. We suggest to leave the cron disabled\nuntil you have configured your ledgers and taxes.\n\n### Configuration\n\nYou can activate this module via Setup \u003e Addon Modules in WHMCS.\n\nThis addon requires you to configure:\n\n* A Moneybird access token;\n* A Moneybird administration id;\n* The first invoice you want to synchronise;\n\nA token can be created via https://moneybird.com/user/applications/new.\n\n### Ledgers and tax rates\n\n#### Ledgers\n\nMoneybird calls ledgers categories. It allows you to group your revenue and\nexpenses. You can map product groups to ledgers in Moneybird. This is done\nvia Addons \u003e Moneybird \u003e Ledger mapping.\n\nIt is recommended to map product groups to categories but not required.\n\nIf you are unsure about ledgers, please consult with an accountant first.\n\n#### Tax rates\n\nWe strongly recommend to map your taxes in WHMCS to your tax rates in\nMoneybird. This is done via Addons \u003e Moneybird \u003e Tax mapping.\n\nIf you are unsure about your taxes, please consult with an accountant first.\n\n### Enable the cron\n\nYou can enable the cron via its setting in Setup \u003e Addon Modules in WHMCS.\n\n## How does it work?\n\nOnce you've got everything set up, configured your ledgers and taxes, you can\nenable the cron. From that point onwards it will synchronise your contacts\nand invoices to Moneybird. Invoices are synced once, contacts are checked\nand updated every time a new invoice is created. It also synchronises\nfinancial mutations once a mutation has been linked to an invoice.\n\n### Contacts and invoices\n\nThe addon will keep track of both contacts and invoices in WHMCS and Moneybird.\n\n#### Contacts\n\nEvery contact is given a new id in Moneybird. This is done to prevent overlap\nsince Moneybird uses the same numbering for both suppliers and customers. If\na supplier in Moneybird would have the same id as a customer in WHMCS, its\ndetails would be changed.\n\n#### Invoices\n\nWHMCS cannot be used as a single source of truth for accounting purposes. This\nis why invoices are given a new number in Moneybird. The original invoice id\nfrom WHMCS is set as a reference. This reference is also used by Moneybird\nto automatically map payments.\n\n### Payment methods and workflows\n\nDifferent payment methods have different instructions. If you collect invoices\nvia direct debit you probably don't want to add an instruction to pay via\nbank transfer. You can map your payment methods to different workflows. This\nis optional. If no mapping is configured it will pick the default workflow.\n\n### Financial mutations (payments)\n\nOnce a mutation has been linked to an invoice in Moneybird it will be detected\nas a payment. The addon will create a unique transaction in WHMCS based on the\ndata it gets from the financial mutation in Moneybird. If an invoice has been\npaid for already (for example via PayPal) it will not add a duplicate\ntransaction.\n\n## Development\n\nWe strongly believe in the power of open source.
