`Mars`: latest Curiosity weather at Gale Crater\n  - `Earth Match`: closest sampled Earth city temperature to Mars\n  - `Moon Estimate`: modeled Apollo 11 / Tranquility Base conditions\n  - `Local`: current temperature near the user\n- Temperature, UV, and radiation comparison:\n  - Earth and local UV are live when available\n  - Mars and Moon UV are modeled as Earth-style UV Index equivalents\n  - Radiation is shown separately in `µSv/h`\n- Temperature units:\n  - app-wide automatic region detection\n  - manual `°C` / `°F` override from the Local modal\n- Tap-through modals:\n  - Earth uses native Apple Maps\n  - Mars and Moon use interactive SceneKit globes with curated mission / landing sites\n  - modals include coordinates, context, and source links\n- Widgets and Live Activities:\n  - Home Screen / macOS widgets\n  - Lock Screen accessory widgets\n  - Dynamic Island / Live Activity on iPhone\n- Resilience:\n  - last successful results are cached\n  - cached data is shown when a source fails\n  - the UI indicates when data is cached / stale\n- Development support:\n  - dashboard preview/mock mode\n  - Xcode previews for the app views and widget families\n\n## Data Sources\n\n- Mars weather:\n  - CAB / INTA-CSIC Curiosity REMS widget feed\n  - `http://cab.inta-csic.es/rems/wp-content/plugins/marsweather-widget/api.php`\n- Earth match:\n  - Open-Meteo sampled city comparison set\n- Local weather:\n  - Apple Location Services for coordinates\n  - Apple Weather / WeatherKit when available\n  - Open-Meteo fallback\n  - IP geolocation fallback via `ipapi.co`, then `ipwho.is`\n- Moon:\n  - modeled estimate for Apollo 11 / Tranquility Base based on local solar angle\n- Radiation / UV context:\n  - NASA / JPL, NASA UV references, and Apollo-era lunar radiation references are linked in-app in the location modal\n\n## Privacy\n\n- The app requests location permission only to show the local weather card and to auto-detect the preferred temperature unit by region.\n- When location access is granted, the app uses the device's approximate/current location to look up local weather.\n- If Apple location or WeatherKit data is unavailable, the app can fall back to IP-based geolocation via `ipapi.co` and `ipwho.is` so the local card is still usable.\n- The app does not use location for advertising, profiling, or background tracking.\n\n## Build\n\n- `xcodebuild -project Mearth.xcodeproj -scheme Mearth -destination 'generic/platform=iOS Simulator' CODE_SIGNING_ALLOWED=NO build`\n- `xcodebuild -project Mearth.xcodeproj -scheme Mearth -destination 'generic/platform=tvOS Simulator' CODE_SIGNING_ALLOWED=NO build`\n- `xcodebuild -project Mearth.xcodeproj -scheme Mearth -destination 'generic/platform=macOS' CODE_SIGNING_ALLOWED=NO build`\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fsighmon%2Fmearth-apple","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fsighmon%2Fmearth-apple","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fsighmon%2Fmearth-apple/lists"}
