[glob](https://github.com/isaacs/node-glob) \nsome files and `require` them to create \n[gulp](https://github.com/gulpjs/gulp) tasks. This way you can organize your \ntasks in multiple files and folders. You can also define task descriptions from \nwhich *gulpplug* can create a help task listing all available tasks.\n\nWithin your task function context you can access your current instance of \n`Plug`, *gulpplug*'s main class, via `this` and find gulp at `this.gulp`.\n*gulpplug* also offers [gulp-util](https://github.com/gulpjs/gulp-util) \n(`this.util`), [run-sequence](https://github.com/OverZealous/run-sequence) \n(`this.runSequence`) and your gulp plugins (`this.plugins`), which can be \nauto-loaded using [auto-plug](https://github.com/simbo/auto-plug).\n\n\n## Install\n\n*gulpplug* doesn't include gulp and is useless without it, so you obviously \nhave to install both. Use npm:\n\n``` bash\nnpm i -S gulp gulpplug\n```\n\n\n## Quick Start\n\nYour `Gulpfile.js` could look like this:\n\n``` javascript\nvar gulp = require('gulp'),\n    plug = require('gulpplug')(gulp);\n\nplug.loadPlugins()\n    .addTasks()\n    .addHelpTask();\n```\n\nLet's say, you want to create a gulp task called `minify` to pipe some \njavascript files through `gulp-uglify`, which you have installed as dependency. \n\nGo ahead and create the file `.gulpplug/minify.js` containing:\n\n``` javascript\nmodule.exports = function() {\n    return this.gulp.src('./src/*.js')\n        .pipe(this.plugins.uglify())\n        .pipe(this.gulp.dest('./dist'));\n}\n```\n\n\n## Usage\n\n\n### Create your `Plug` instance\n\n`Plug` is *gulpplug*'s main class. It needs your current gulp instance as first\nargument and accepts an options object as second argument.\n\nYou can create your `Plug` instance by calling the required main function…\n\n``` javascript\nvar gulp = require('gulp'),\n    plug = require('gulpplug')(gulp);\n```\n\n…or require the class definition and call `new`:\n\n``` javascript\nvar gulp = require('gulp'),\n    Plug = require('gulpplug').Plug\n    plug = new Plug(gulp);\n```\n\n\n### Options\n\n\n*gulpplug* looks for a folder called `.gulpplug/` in the same directory where\nyour `Gulpfile.js` is.\n\nSee also `example/`.\n\n\n### Defining Tasks\n\nAll files matching `**/*.js` within `.gulpplug/` will be required and should \nreturn a function to create a task.\n\nFor example, `.gulpplug/foo.js` will be executable via `gulp foo` and could \nlook like this:\n\n``` javascript\nmodule.exports = function() {\n    return this.gulp.src(…)\n        .pipe(this.plugins.someGulpPlugin())\n        .pipe(this.gulp.dest(…));\n    });\n};\n```\n\n`this` is your current [`Plug`](#plug-class) instance, delivering `gulp`, \n[`gulp-util`](https://github.com/gulpjs/gulp-util) and\n[`run-sequence`]() as properties. \n(As well as other properties and methods you may want to use - take a look at \nthe [sourcecode](https://github.com/simbo/gulpplug/blob/master/lib/plug.js).)\n\n``` javascript\nmodule.exports = function(done) {\n    this.util.log(this.chalk.green('Starting async things…'));\n    setTimeout(function() {\n        this.util.log(this.chalk.red('Async stuff done.'));\n        done();\n    }.bind(this)), 100);\n};\n```\n\nYou can organize your task files in subfolders.  \nFor example, this will add the tasks `foo` and `bar:baz`:\n\n``` text\nmy-project/\n ├─╸ .gulpplug/\n │    ├─╸ bar/\n │    │    └─╸ baz.js\n │    └─╸ foo.js\n └─╸ Gulpfile.js\n```\n\n\n### Help task and descriptions\n\nYou can add a automatically generated help task by calling\n`plug.addHelpTask()`.\n\nRun the task via `gulp help`. It will show all available tasks with a \ndescription if available.\n\nAdd a task description:\n\n``` javascript\nmodule.exports = [\n    'this task does awesome stuff',\n    function() {\n        …\n    }\n];\n```\n\n### Loading gulp plugins\n\nBy calling `plug.loadPlugins()`, [auto-plug](https://github.com/simbo/auto-plug)\nwill be used to load gulp plugins defined in your project's `package.json`. You\ncan set auto-plug options as first argument.\n\n\n### Plug Class\n\nBy calling `require('gulpplug')(…)` you get a new instance of `Plug`, which \nexpects `gulp` as first argument and an optional options object as second \nargument.\n\nYou can also access the class directly.\n\n``` javascript\nvar path = require('path'),\n    gulp = require('gulp'),\n    Plug = require('gulpplug').Plug,\n    plug = new Plug(gulp, {\n        cwd: path.dirname(__filename),\n        tasksDir: 'my-gulp-tasks'\n    });\n```\n\n\n## License\n\n[MIT \u0026copy; 2015 Simon Lepel](http://simbo.mit-license.org/)\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fsimbo%2Fgulpplug","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fsimbo%2Fgulpplug","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fsimbo%2Fgulpplug/lists"}
