As an\n    illustrative example, does the sequence (-30%, +40%) represent a positive or negative\n    overall return? We review some of the problems with using percentage returns such as the\n    lack of symmetry, lack of additivity and differences between the arithmetic and geometric\n    means. We then introduce a new logarithmic unit modeled on the deciBel, tentatively\n    called a centiBagger, which addresses these shortcomings. Finally we conclude by using \n    centiBaggers to compare the performance of US Stocks, Bonds and Bills since 1927 and show\n    how their use simplifies multi-period comparisons.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fsnth%2Fsafa2017","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fsnth%2Fsafa2017","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fsnth%2Fsafa2017/lists"}
