daman\n\n## description\n\n`daman` aims at providing a relatively simple solution to the challenge of sharing data between various multiple individuals/machines in the context of a python-development workflow. This solution relies on cloud storage and allows to control the amount of local disc space used for data management.\n\n## setup \u0026 configure\n\n### Install\n\nThis package is available through **pip** and can directly be installed as follows by running `pip install daman`.\n\n### cloud provider\n\n#### AWS: S3 Bucket\n\nShould your AWS account not yet configured on your current machine, retrieve the following information:\n* access_key_id\n* secret_access_key\n\n##### using `dm_aws`\nyou can then simply running the following command:\n\n```shell\ndm_aws --access_key_id \u003caccess_key_id\u003e --secret_access_key \u003csecret_access_key\u003e\n```\n\n##### manually\n\nAlternatively you can create a file at `~/.aws/credentials` and type in the following :\n```ini\n[default]\naws_access_key_id = \u003caccess_key_id\u003e\naws_secret_access_key = \u003csecret_access_key\u003e\n```\n\n### configure daman\n\nTo finalise the setup phase, it is required to run to provide the following information:\n\n* `storage_name`: Name of the bucket to be used\n* `service`: Type of cloud storage used (Currently only `aws` is available).\n* `local_dir` **[Optional]**: local directory to store data in. _default is `~/.daman/data/`_\n* `allocated_space` **[Optional]**: Disc space to allocate to local directory.
