Installation\n\nWaitup was written for **Node.js 4+**.\n\n`npm install --save waitup`\n\n## Usage\n\nThere are several ways of using Waitup.\n\n### Simple Delays\n\nWaitup can be used to introduce a delay before continuing within a Promise chain.\n\n```js\nlet waitup = require('waitup');\n\n// Delay is in milliseconds, result is a Promise\nwaitup(5000)\n  .then(() =\u003e {\n    console.log('Waited approximately 5 seconds...')\n\n    // Alternative method of configuring delay\n    return waitup({\n      delay: 2500\n    });\n  })\n  .then(() =\u003e {\n    console.log('Waited approximately 2.5 seconds this time...');\n  });\n```\n\nCalling waitup returns a **Promise**. The default delay is **1 second** (1000 milliseconds).\n\n### Wait Up For Completion\n\nWaitup can also be configured to wait for the completion of an operation. A callback\ncan be provided to waitup's *for* option. This callback accepts a single argument\nfor the *waitee*. When the operation is considered complete, return the value of\n*waitee.done()*. An optional result can be provided to *waitee.done()* to forward\nto the resolved promise.\n\n```js\n// Set someResult to true in approximately 5 seconds\nlet someResult = false;\nsetTimeout(() =\u003e someResult = true, 5000);\n\n// Check every 0.5 seconds for operation to complete\nwaitup({\n  for: waitee =\u003e {\n    if (someResult === true) {\n      return waitee.done('example result');\n    }\n\n    console.log('someResult not true yet');\n  },\n  delay: 500\n})\n  .then(exampleResult =\u003e {\n    console.log('Waitee is done waiting!');\n    console.log(`Result: ${exampleResult}`);\n  });\n```\n\nAdditionally, a number of retries can be configured before rejection.
