mechanisms through\nmediation analysis in the context of diabetes and endocrine diseases.\n\nOur three-day course is a face-to-face workshop that includes a variety\nof teaching methods, including lectures, R code-along sessions, and\nactivities that foster networking between participants such as group\nwork activities, and student presentations.\n\nThis repository contains the lesson, lecture, and assignment material\nfor the course, including the website source files and other associated\ncourse administration files.\n\n## Lesson content\n\nThe teaching material is found mainly in the project folders:\n\n-   `preamble/`: Contains the syllabus and pre-course tasks.\n-   `sessions/`: Contains the teaching material\n-   `data/`: Contains the example datasets used in the course\n\nThe website is generated from [Quarto](https://quarto.org), so follows\nthe file and folder structure conventions from that package.\n\n## Installing necessary packages\n\nPackages used and depended on for this course are included in the\n`DESCRIPTION` file. To install the packages, run this function in the\nroot directory (where the `mediation-analysis-course.Rproj` file is\nlocated:\n\n``` r\npak::pak()\n```\n\nYou might need to connect to GitHub via a personal access token if you\nencounter a \"rate limit\" when installing packages:\n\n``` r\n# usethis::create_github_token()\ngitcreds::gitcreds_set()\n```\n\n## Contributing\n\nIf you are interested in contributing to the course material, please\nrefer to the [contributing guidelines](CONTRIBUTING.md).
