It runs ZMK on two nice!nanos, is fully wireless\nvia Bluetooth and uses Kailh Choc V1 switches in a 18x19mm grid layout.\n\n![An assembled Taira v1.0](docs/taira-1.0.jpg)\n\n## Why?\n\nI used an ErgoDash with MX switches for over a year multiple hours each day.\nEven though I love typing on it, it always felt too bulky and the wires really\nstarted to annoy me - especially when moving between workplaces. At some point I\ndiscovered ZMK and started plans on building a keyboard based on the ErgoDash,\nbut as low-profile as I could manage.\n\nAfter investigating which other low-profile keyboards exist in the community, I\nquickly realized that the most sophisticated offer seems to be the Corne\nChocolate. This keyboard is heavily based upon the footprints of the Corne\nChocolate, but layed out in a layout very similar to the original ErgoDash.\n\n### ErgoDash comparison\n\n![An ErgoDash next to a Taira](docs/ergodash-comparison.jpg)\n\n## Build guide\n\nFollow the [build guide](BUILDGUIDE.md) if you are interested in building your\nown Taira.\n\n## Firmware\n\nThe ZMK firmware is managed in a separate repository: [strayer/taira-keyboard-zmk-config]\n\n[strayer/taira-keyboard-zmk-config]: https://github.com/strayer/taira-keyboard-zmk-config\n\n## Acknowledgements\n\nThanks to [@omkbd](https://github.com/omkbd) and\n[@foostan](https://github.com/foostan/) for releasing both the ErgoDash and the\nCorne Chocolate under the MIT license. Without their work, this keyboard would\nnot exist.\n\n- https://github.com/omkbd/ErgoDash\n- https://github.com/foostan/crkbd/tree/main/corne-chocolate\n- an unnamed coworker who helped me _a lot_ while planning and working on the\n  keyboard\n\n## Copyright\n\nCopyright 2022 Sven Grunewaldt\n\nLicense: [MIT](LICENSE)\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fstrayer%2Ftaira-keyboard","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fstrayer%2Ftaira-keyboard","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fstrayer%2Ftaira-keyboard/lists"}
