TestMatrix\n\nTest Matrix is a testing utility to run many test patterns against many\ntest samples, providing a helpful visual output.\n\nGiven an input matrix, which can be generated using a CSV or a slice of slices:\n\n![strconv.Atoi input spreadsheet](assets/atoi_input.jpg \"strconv.Atoi input spreadsheet\")\n\nThe utility will run tests through all the permutations and provide visual output to help identify patterns in the failures:\n\n![strconv.Atoi test output](assets/atoi_output.jpg \"strconv.Atoi test output\")\n\nThe table is printed only with `-v` test flag or with at least one failing test.\n\n## Usage\n\nThe matrix of input can be a CSV file, a matrix of type `[][]interface{}` or\na reader that responds to `Read` and `ReadHeaders` functions.\n\n```go\nmatrix := testmatrix.NewColoredTestMatrix(t *testing.T)\n\nfunc (matrix testmatrix.TestMatrix) AssertSlice(data [][]interface{}, assert func(subjectText string, headerText string) bool)\n\nfunc (matrix testmatrix.TestMatrix) AssertCsv(reader io.Reader, assert func(subjectText string, headerText string) bool)\n\nfunc (matrix testmatrix.TestMatrix) Assert(r testmatrix.Reader, assert func(subjectText string, headerText string) bool)\n```\n\n```go\n//go:embed atoi.csv\nvar atoiMatrix string\n\nfunc TestTestMatrixCsv(t *testing.T) {\n  matrix := testmatrix.NewColoredTestMatrix(t)\n  reader := strings.NewReader(atoiMatrix)\n\n  matrix.AssertCsv(reader, func(input string, expectedOutput string) bool {\n    actualOutput, err := strconv.Atoi(input)\n\n    if expectedOutput == \"error\" {\n      return err != nil\n    }\n\n    return strconv.Itoa(actualOutput) == expectedOutput\n  })\n}\n```\n\nThe `Assert*` functions have 2 parameters:\n\nAn input test matrix (or a reader of such). The test matrix is composed of\nexpected outputs in the first row and, from the second row and on, the sample\nin the first column and if the input function should return or not the expected\noutput.\n\nThe second parameter is a function accepting an input value, the sample from\nthe first column on the left, and an expected output value: the header at the\ntop.\nThe function should output if executing the subject function (`Atoi` in this\ncase) on the input returns the expected output.\n\n## CSV input\n\nThe CSV should be formatted in the following way:\n\n```csv\n,expectedOutput1,expectedOutput2\ninput1,TRUE,FALSE\ninput2,FALSE,FALSE\n```\n\nWhere `TRUE` and `FALSE` represent boolean values.\n\n## Slice input\n\n```go\n[][]interface{}{\n  {\"\", \"10\", \"1\", \"error\"},\n  {\"1\", \"FALSE\", \"TRUE\", \"FALSE\"},\n  {\"10\", \"TRUE\", \"FALSE\", \"FALSE\"},\n  {\"a\", \"FALSE\", \"FALSE\", \"TRUE\"},\n  {\"0xa\", \"FALSE\", \"FALSE\", \"TRUE\"},\n  {\"zz\", \"FALSE\", \"FALSE\", \"TRUE\"},\n}\n```\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fthehungry-dev%2Ftestmatrix","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fthehungry-dev%2Ftestmatrix","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fthehungry-dev%2Ftestmatrix/lists"}
