is a BBC iPlayer/BBC Sounds Indexing Tool and PVR\n\n## Supported Architectures\n\nOur images support multiple architectures and simply pulling `ghcr.io/thespad/get_iplayer:latest` should retrieve the requires mounting `/run` to tmpfs with the `exec` flag.\n\n## Non-Root Operation\n\nThis image can be run with a non-root user.\n\n## Usage\n\nHere are some example snippets to help you get started are configured using parameters passed at runtime (such as those above). These parameters are separated by a colon and indicate `\u003cexternal\u003e:\u003cinternal\u003e` respectively. For example, `-p 8080:80` would expose port `80` from inside the container to be accessible from the host's IP on port `8080` outside the container.\n\n| Parameter | Function |\n| :----: | --- |\n| `-p 1935` | Web GUI |\n| `-e PUID=1000` | for UserID - see below for explanation |\n| `-e PGID=1000` | for GroupID - see below for explanation |\n| `-e TZ=America/New_York` | Specify a timezone to use EG America/New_York |\n| `-e INCLUDERADIO=` | Set to `true` to pre-cache Radio (BBC Sounds) as well as TV shows |\n| `-e BASEURL=` | Set to the full path of your proxied domain if using subfolders |\n| `-e ENABLEIMPORT=` | Set to `true` to enable [SonarrAutoImport](https://github.com/Webreaper/SonarrAutoImport/). Place settings.json into the /config mount|\n| `-v /config` | Contains all relevant configuration files. |\n| `-v /downloads` | Storage location for all get_iplayer download files. |\n\n## Environment variables from files (Docker secrets)\n\nYou can set any environment variable from a file by using a special prepend `FILE__`.\n\nAs an example:\n\n```shell\n-e FILE__PASSWORD=/run/secrets/mysecretpassword\n```\n\nWill set the environment variable `PASSWORD` based on the contents of the `/run/secrets/mysecretpassword` file.\n\n## Umask for running applications\n\nFor all of our images we provide the ability to override the default umask settings for services started within the containers using the optional `-e UMASK=022` setting.\nKeep in mind umask is not chmod it subtracts from permissions based on it's value it does not add. Please read up [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umask) before asking for support.\n\n## User / Group Identifiers\n\nWhen using volumes (`-v` flags) permissions issues can arise between the host OS and the container, we avoid this issue by allowing you to specify the user `PUID` and group `PGID`.\n\nEnsure any volume directories on the host are owned by the same user you specify and any permissions issues will vanish like magic.\n\nIn this instance `PUID=1000` and `PGID=1000`, to find yours use `id user` as below:\n\n```shell\n  $ id username\n    uid=1000(dockeruser) gid=1000(dockergroup) groups=1000(dockergroup)\n```\n\n## Support Info\n\n* Shell access whilst the container is running: `docker exec -it get_iplayer /bin/bash`\n* To monitor the logs of the container in realtime: `docker logs -f get_iplayer`\n\n## Updating Info\n\nMost of our images are static, versioned, and require an image update and container recreation to update the app inside. We do not recommend or support updating apps inside the container. Please consult the [Application Setup](#application-setup) section above to see if it is recommended for the image.\n\nBelow are the instructions for updating containers:\n\n### Via Docker Compose\n\n* Update all images: `docker-compose pull`\n  * or update a single image: `docker-compose pull get_iplayer`\n* Let compose update all containers as necessary: `docker-compose up -d`\n  * or update a single container: `docker-compose up -d get_iplayer`\n* You can also remove the old dangling images: `docker image prune`\n\n### Via Docker Run\n\n* Update the image: `docker pull ghcr.io/thespad/get_iplayer`\n* Stop the running container: `docker stop get_iplayer`\n* Delete the container: `docker rm get_iplayer`\n* Recreate a new container with the same docker run parameters as instructed above (if mapped correctly to a host folder, your `/config` folder and settings will be preserved)\n* You can also remove the old dangling images: `docker image prune`\n\n### Image Update Notifications - Diun (Docker Image Update Notifier)\n\n\u003e[!TIP]\n\u003eWe recommend [Diun](https://crazymax.dev/diun/) for update notifications.
