node-arduino-serial\nNodeJs version of `arduino-serial` commandline tool\n\nThis was mostly done as an experiment on my part.\nI wanted to play around with [node-serialport](https://github.com/voodootikigod/node-serialport)\nand figured recreating my [arduino-serial](https://github.com/todbot/arduino-serial/)\ntool would be interesting.\n\nOne of the features of the original `arduino-serial` is the order of the\ncommandline arguments determine the order of the actions.  So if you do:\n```\narduino-serial -p /dev/ttyS0 -d 100 -s 'hello there' -d 200 -r\n```\nyou are saying: \"open this serial port, wait 100 msecs, send out 'hello there',\nwait 200 msecs, then read a line\".\n\nI wanted to recreate this feature in node-arduino-serial.  Turns out because\neverything in Node is async with callbacks, this becomes a bit trickier than\nexpected.\n\n### Requirements\n`node-arduino-serial` is expected to work in Node v4.x.  \n\nIt explicitly uses the [ghostoy branch of `node-serialport`](https://github.com/ghostoy/node-serialport/tree/nan1to2)\nthat supports Node v4.x \u0026 NANv2.  \nSee the [node-serial port issue #578](https://github.com/voodootikigod/node-serialport/issues/578)\nfor more details.\n\nSee `package.json` for details if you want to do this yourself.\n\nCurrently only tested on Node v4.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.10.5.\n\n### Installation\nInstall and run globally with:\n```\n$ npm install -g arduino-serial\n$ arduino-serial -h\n```\nOr install and run locally:\n```\n$ git clone https://github.com/todbot/node-arduino-serial\n$ npm install\n$ ./bin/arduino-serial -h\n```\n\n### Usage\n```\nUsage: arduino-serial -b \u003cbps\u003e -p \u003cserialport\u003e [OPTIONS]\n\nOptions:\n  -h, --help                 Print this help message\n  -l, --list                 List avaiable serial ports\n  -b, --baud=baudrate        Baudrate (bps) of Arduino (default 9600)\n  -p, --port=serialport      Serial port Arduino is connected to\n  -s, --send=string          Send string to Arduino\n# -S, --sendline=string      Send string with newline to Arduino\n# -i  --stdinput             Use standard input\n  -r, --receive              Receive string from Arduino \u0026 print it out\n# -n  --num=num              Send a number as a single byte\n  -F  --flush                Flush serial port buffers for fresh reading\n  -d  --delay=millis         Delay for specified milliseconds\n# -e  --eolchar=char         Specify EOL char for reads (default '\n')\n# -t  --timeout=millis       Timeout for reads in millisecs (default 5000)\n  -q  --quiet                Don't print out as much info\n('#' indicate options not yet implemented)\n\nNote: Order is important.
