Collaborative Create-Your-Own-Adventure\n\nThis is an example repo that illustrates the concept of a \"Pull Request\", created\nas part of the Udacity course [How to Use Git and GitHub](https://www.udacity.com/course/how-to-use-git-and-github--ud775).\nIn the create-your-own-adventure story the reader chooses what action to take and\nturns to an appropriate page of the story based on their choice.  It is collaborative\nbecause it is written one small piece at a time by many authors.  To start reading\nthe story, click [here](language.md).\n\n## Format of the Story\n\nEach \"page\" of this story is a separate file.  The files are Markdown, which\nmeans they are plain text, but with a few special capabilities.  The only\nMarkdown capability used in this story is links.  By putting text in brackets\nand a URL in parentheses, you can add a link to the story.  For example, the\nfollowing text would turn \"here\" into a link to Google:\n\n    Click [here](http://www.google.com) to visit Google.\n\n## Contribution Guidelines\n\n### Make Appropriately Sized Changes\n\nTry to keep your change small.  Part of the fun of a collaborative story is\nthat no one person writes very much of it!  On the other hand, please **don't**\nadd an option without adding any story for readers who choose that option, or\nthe story will soon be full of dead links.  Instead, the last `.md` file the reader\nreaches on any path of the story should not have any options.  For an example, see\n[this file](https://github.com/udacity/create-your-own-adventure/blob/c4f2bf7caac641df1c979a2db056a532e0c93e23/english/light-fire/fire.md)\nfrom an early version of the story.  Here are some examples of  appropriate changes:\n\n* Add a sentence or two to an existing \"page\" (file) of the story.\n* Add a new option to an existing choice point, and link that option to an\n  existing \"page\".\n* Add a new option to an existing choice point, create a new \"page\" for that\n  option, and add a sentence or two to the new \"page\".\n* Add a couple of options to a current dead-end \"page\", and add a \"page\" or link\n  to an existing \"page\" for each option.\n\n\n### Directory Structure\n\nWe expect that this repository will eventually contain quite a few files, so we\nhave a unique directory structure that we'd like contributors to follow to help\nkeep things organized.\n\nEach \"page\" in the story should have its own directory with a single Markdown file.\nThe name of the Markdown file should reflect the subject of the file.  For example,\nthe first \"page\" is at the top of the repository, and it is named language.md because\nin it, the reader selects their language.\n\nWhen you add a new option to an existing \"page\", you should add the file for that new\noption in a subdirectory of the file that links to it.  For example, when I added the option\nto eat the walls on the \"page\" [english/marshmallow.md](english/marshmallow.md), I created\na new directory called [english/eating-walls/](english/eating-walls/), and a new file within\nthat directory called\n[english/eating-walls/eating-marshmallows.md](english/eating-walls/eating-marshmallows.md).\n\n### Use Relative Links\n\nThe links in this file should be [relative links](http://compugoddess.com/relative-vs-absolute-links/)\nso that they will still work if the repository is forked.  View the [language.md](language.md)\nfile for an example of relative links.  (Click the \"Raw\" button to view the text that creates the\nlinks.)  You can also use `..` to refer to the parent of the current directory if necessary.\n\n### Line Length\n\nPlease keep all lines to 120 characters or fewer.  Otherwise, the raw files\nwill be difficult to read in the browser or on the command line, and changes\nwill be harder to review.\n\n### Blank Lines Between Options\n\nInsert blank lines between different options so that the options will be\nvisually separated.\n\n### Avoid Using Markdown Features\n\nOther than links, please only use plain text in your story and not the other\nfeatures of Markdown.  We want it to be easy to read the raw files even for\npeople who don't know Markdown.\n\n## License\n\nThe content of this repository is licensed under a\n[Creative Commons Attribution License](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/us/)\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fudacity%2Fcreate-your-own-adventure","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fudacity%2Fcreate-your-own-adventure","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fudacity%2Fcreate-your-own-adventure/lists"}
