It aims to ease running tests and retrieving coverage reports for iOS applications.\n\n## Installation\n\n```sh\nbrew tap vitorbaraujo/formulae\nbrew install batler\n```\n\n## Usage\n\nBefore running the CLI, you first need to [configure](#configuration) the CLI.\n\n### Run tests\n```sh\nbatler test [-p \u003cyour_ios_project_path\u003e] [-h]\n```\n\n### Displaying coverage\n\n```sh\nbatler coverage [-p \u003cyour_ios_project_path\u003e] [--html] [--output_dir \u003cpath\u003e]\n```\n\n## Configuration\n\nAll the CLI configuration can be done through a config file named `.batler.yml`. This file needs to be located at your project root.\n\nHere is an example configuration file:\n\n```yaml\n# File: .batler.yml\nworkspace: TestApp/MyProject.xcworkspace\nproject: TestApp/MyProject.xcodeproj\nscheme: TestApp\nbuild_dir: Build\nxcode_version: 11.6 # will use '/Applications/Xcode-11.6.app/Contents/Developer'\n# xcode_developer_dir: /my/custom/xcode/installation\nclean: true\ndestination: platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 8,OS=13.6\ncoverage:\n  exclude:\n  - TestApp/*\n```\n\nThe config file contains the following parameters:\n\n### workspace\n\nThe relative path to the xcworkspace directory.\n\n### project\n\nThe relative path to the xcodeproj  directory.\n\n### scheme\n\nThe scheme used to run tests.\n\n### build_dir\n\nThe path where the test artifacts will be stored.\n\n### xcode_version\n\nThe Xcode version to use when running tests. It expects the Xcode installation will be located at `/Applications/Xcode-{version}.app/Contents/Developer`.\n\nIf you set this parameter, you cannot use `xcode_developer_dir`.\n\nIf you do not set neither `xcode_version` not `xcode_developer_dir`, the CLI will fetch the Xcode path from `xcode-select -p`.\n\n### xcode_developer_dir\n\nThe Xcode developer directory path to run tests.\n\nIf you set this parameter, you cannot use `xcode_version`.\n\nIf you do not set neither `xcode_version` not `xcode_developer_dir`, the CLI will fetch the Xcode path from `xcode-select -p`.\n\n### coverage\n\nSet of parameters for configuring the coverage report.\n\n#### coverage.exclude\n\nA list of wildcard paths to exclude from the coverage report.\n\n### clean\n\nIf set to true, it will clean the project before building and testing when running `batler test`.\n\n### destination\n\nA Xcode iOS simulator destination.\n\nThis parameter must be formatted as such: `platform=iOS Simulator,name={device_name},OS={os_version}`.\n\nIf passed, the destination should be exist (check `xcrun simctl list devices` to check available simulators).\n\nIf you do not set this parameter, the CLI will create an arbitrary simulator given available runtimes and devicetypes (using `xcrun simctl`).\n\n## Future improvements\n\n- Add logging (+ verbose option)\n- Add xcpretty integration\n- Add xcodeproj option when running `batler test` (currently, the project config is only used for the `coverage` option)\n- Add custom xcodebuild parameters when running `batler test`\n- Add custom slather parameters when running `batler coverage`\n- Add flag to pass custom config file path\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fvitorbaraujo%2Fbatler","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fvitorbaraujo%2Fbatler","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fvitorbaraujo%2Fbatler/lists"}
