Batteries will smooth out the mismatch in the spikes between power generation and power use, reducing the total amount transferred to and from the power company. I have some interest in also using the battery bank as a backup power source for the home, but the presence of a whole-house generator makes that less interesting.\n\nThe PV array is 14 Sunmodule Plus SW 280 mono panels, with a total capacity of 3.92 kW, with the following specs:\n\n* STC Rating: 280.0 Watts\n* PTC Rating: 251.2\n* Open Circuit Voltage: 39.5 Volts\n* Short Circuit Current:\t9.71 Amps\n* Power Tolerance\t0/+5%\n\nThe biggest challenge is dealing with the PV array's use of microinverters. The power that it feeds back is AC, not DC.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fwaldoj%2Fhome-battery","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fwaldoj%2Fhome-battery","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fwaldoj%2Fhome-battery/lists"}
