It is current under development\nwith the aim of becoming a web-app hosted by the author upon completion, but\nwith the source code openly provided to anyone who wishes to run (for example)\na private copy (as may be required by labs handling sensitive or legally\nsensitive samples).\n\nThe current state of the application is far from ready (it's not at the\n\"useful\" stage yet), but anyone is free to play with it and provide feedback.\nSee the sections below for installation and usage instructions.\n\n\nInstallation\n============\n\nThe basic pre-requisites for running a development copy of the system are\nPython 2.6 or above, Python setuptools or distribute, and Python virtualenv.\nThe application is only tested on Linux but should probably work on Windows\nor Mac OS X as well.\n\nOnce the pre-requisites are installed, open a shell and use the following\ncommands to configure a sandbox in which to install and run the application::\n\n    $ virtualenv sandbox\n    $ source sandbox/bin/activate\n    $ git clone https://github.com/waveform80/samplesdb.git\n    $ cd samplesdb\n    $ python setup.py develop\n    $ initialize_samplesdb_db development.ini\n\nTo run the application, use the following command::\n\n    $ pserve development.ini\n\nYou should now be able to visit the application by accessing\nhttp://localhost:8080/ in your favourite web browser.\n\n\nUsage\n=====\n\nThe database is initialized with a single administrative user with the\nfollowing credentials:\n\n * E-mail address: admin@example.com\n\n * Password: adminpass\n\nHopefully the user interface is sufficiently intuitive that no further\ninstructions are required, but if you feel anything can be improved in that\narea, do feel free to contact me or raise an issue in github.\n\n\nLicense\n=======\n\nThis file is part of samplesdb.\n\nsamplesdb is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the\nterms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software\nFoundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later\nversion.\n\nsamplesdb is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY\nWARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR\nA PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
