It is backed\nby Ubuntu, and offers an intermediate abstraction between\naudio devices and their legacy drivers, and a wide range\nof applications.\n\nThere are capable GUI interfaces to Pulseaudio, allowing application\nstreams to be manipulated with a high degree of precision.
