It features a text-based dialog-driven user\ninterface, a command-line, support for FAT12 (MS-DOS-like) floppy\ndisks, sound (PC speaker), text editor, BASIC interpreter and more.\nThe kernel includes over 60 system calls.\n\nMikeOS is a learning tool for those wishing to understand simple OS \nconstruction and x86 assembly. Quick getting-started guide: MikeOS can \nrun from a floppy disk or CD-ROM, either on an emulator or a real PC. \nSee the disk_images/ directory for files that you can write to the \nappropriate media or boot in, for instance, VMware, QEMU or VirtualBox.\n\nYou can find the source code in the source/ directory, and sample \nprograms (included on the disk images) in the programs/ directory.\nSee the doc/ directory for more info, including:\n\n # handbook-user.html -- How to run and use MikeOS\n\n # handbook-appdev-basic.html -- Writing software in BASIC\n # handbook-appdev-asm.html -- Writing software in assembly\n # handbook-sysdev.html -- Building and modifying the OS\n\n # LICENSE.TXT -- The open source, BSD-like license\n # CHANGES.TXT -- Detailed list of changes in previous releases\n # CREDITS.TXT -- People involved in the project\n\nHave fun, and see the website at http://mikeos.sourceforge.net\n\n -- Mike Saunders (okachi@gmail.com)\n\n\n==================================================================\n\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fwinsdominoes%2Fwinos","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fwinsdominoes%2Fwinos","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fwinsdominoes%2Fwinos/lists"}
