The repository contains a `scripts/` folder and configuration files — copy or adapt those into your Waybar configuration.\n\n1. Clone the repository:\n\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/xnileshtiwari/omarchy-waybar.git\ncd omarchy-waybar\n```\n\n2. Install prerequisites (examples):\n\n* Waybar (your compositor package manager)\n* Taskwarrior (`task` CLI)\n* GNOME Pomodoro (or another pomodoro daemon with compatible controls)\n* `bash` / `sh` (scripts are POSIX / shell), or Python if any helper scripts need it\n\nUse your distribution's package manager, e.g. on Debian/Ubuntu:\n\n```bash\nsudo apt install waybar taskwarrior gnome-pomodoro\n```\n\nOn Arch/Manjaro:\n\n```bash\nsudo pacman -S waybar task gnome-pomodoro\n```\n\n3. Copy (or symlink) provided module files into your Waybar config:\n\n```bash\n# back up your waybar config first\nmkdir -p ~/.config/waybar/custom-modules\ncp config.jsonc ~/.config/waybar/config.d/omarchy.jsonc\ncp style.css ~/.config/waybar/style-omarchy.css\ncp -r scripts ~/.config/waybar/omarchy-scripts\n```\n\n4. Add a module entry to your main Waybar config (example snippet):\n\n```jsonc\n// inside your existing ~/.config/waybar/config\n\"modules-left\": [ \"custom/omarchy\" ],\n\n\"custom/omarchy\": {\n  \"format\": \"{output}\",\n  \"exec\": \"~/.config/waybar/omarchy-scripts/omarchy.sh\",\n  \"interval\": 1,\n  \"on-click\": \"~/.config/waybar/omarchy-scripts/on_click.sh\",\n  \"return-type\": \"json\"\n}\n```\n\n\u003e Adjust `exec`/`on-click` paths to match the script names in `scripts/`.\n\n5. Make the scripts executable:\n\n```bash\nchmod +x ~/.config/waybar/omarchy-scripts/*.sh\n```\n\n6. Restart Waybar (or your session) to load the new module.\n\n---\n\n## Configuration notes\n\n* `config.jsonc` contains a JSON-like configuration you can tune (poll intervals, which Taskwarrior fields to show, pomodoro behavior, icons, etc.).\n* `style.css` contains two theme rules (dark \u0026 light). You can either copy the file content into your global Waybar CSS or keep it separate and import it.\n\n### Themes\n\n* To preview **dark** theme: include or import the `.dark` CSS section (or use the provided `style-omarchy.css` and toggle a `.dark` class in Waybar).\n* To preview **light** theme: apply the `.light` class in the CSS or swap the CSS file.\n\n(Exact CSS classes are in `style.css` in this repository.)\n\n---\n\n## How it works (overview)\n\n* The module uses scripts in `scripts/` to read Taskwarrior tasks (via the `task` command) and to query/control GNOME Pomodoro (via available command-line or D-Bus interfaces).\n* The Waybar module runs the main `exec` script on an interval; the script outputs JSON or plain text that Waybar renders.\n* Double-click handling is implemented via Waybar's click interface: a double-click triggers a script/command that starts a Pomodoro session.\n* Marking a task **active** in Taskwarrior (e.g. `task \u003cid\u003e start`) will be picked up by the script and shown on the bar.\n\n---\n\n## Usage examples\n\n* Start a pomodoro by double-clicking the tomato icon on the bar.\n* Mark a task active so it appears on the bar:\n\n```bash\ntask 42 start\n# or\ntask \u003cUUID\u003e start\n```\n\n* Complete a task from Taskwarrior and watch the bar update on the next polling interval:\n\n```bash\ntask 42 done\n```\n\n---\n\n## Troubleshooting\n\n* If nothing appears in Waybar, verify the `exec` path is correct and the script prints output to stdout.\n* Make sure `task` and `gnome-pomodoro` are installed and accessible from the environment where Waybar runs (Waybar inherits environment from the session).\n* Logs: run the module script manually in a terminal to see errors, e.g.\n\n```bash\n~/.config/waybar/omarchy-scripts/omarchy.sh\n```\n\n---\n\n## Contributing\n\nContributions, issues, and feature requests are welcome.\n\n* Please open issues for bugs or feature ideas.\n* If you submit a PR, include a short description and a screenshot demonstrating the change (add to `screenshots/`).\n\n---\n\n## Notes\n\n* This README is intentionally generic to support a variety of Waybar setups. If the implementation in `scripts/` differs from what is described above, adjust the `exec` and `on-click` hooks to match the actual script names and interfaces present in this repository.\n* There is a `scripts/` folder in this repository — inspect those scripts for exact file names and any additional dependencies.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fxnileshtiwari%2Fomarchy-waybar","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fxnileshtiwari%2Fomarchy-waybar","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fxnileshtiwari%2Fomarchy-waybar/lists"}
