  • Fred (Freenet) - Freenet is a peer-to-peer platform for censorship-resistant communication and publishing.
  • Frost - Frost is a Freenet 0.7 client that provides newsgroup-like messaging, private encrypted messages, file upload and download functionality and a file sharing system.
  • Freesites Insertion Wizard - a java utility with AWT GUI for inserting freesites (DBR, Edition, FEC support).
  • FMS (Freenet Messaging System) - A spam-resistent message board application for Freenet
  • Syndie - an open-source cross-platform computer application to syndicate (re-publish) data (mainly forums) over a variety of anonymous and non-anonymous computer networks (Tor, Freenet, I2P)
  • FreeMail - An E-Mail system built on top of Freenet.
  • FLIRCP - Freenet Lightweight IRC Plugin is a re-implementation of [FLIP](https://github.com/SeekingFor/FLIP) with the advantage of being a plugin, not a standalone application.
  • FlogHelper - a tool for publishing blogs in Freenet ("flogs"). Included as official plugin.

  • Freetalk - a forum system built on top of Freenet.
  • Fritter - a program that supports Twitter-style microblogging over Freenet. It is designed to be very simple, both to use and to implement, very fast, and support anonymous, censorship-resistant speech thanks to the underlying Freenet architecture. You need Freenet to access the link to it.
  • Gitfreenet - allows Mercurial and Git clients to store and retrieve repositories using Freenet. Not finished yet.
  • InfoCalypse - an extension for the distributed revision control system Mercurial. It uses an optimized structure to minimize the number of requests to retrieve new data, and allows supporting a repository by securely reuploading most parts of the data without requiring the owner's private keys
  • Jfniki - Wiki over Freenet.
  • Jsite - a tool that uploads websites from a local directory into Freenet.

  • Web of Trust|Web-Of-Trust - a collaborative spam filter framework for building other apps on top. Used by FlogHelper, Freetalk, Freemail, Sone. Officially included.
  • WoTNS - Web of Trust Name Service aims at building a DNS like service on top of Freenet. Could be superseded by implementing [shortest unique nickname generation](https://bugs.freenetproject.org/view.php?id=6072) at Web of Trust.

  • Orchid - The Orchid network enables a decentralized virtual private network (VPN), allowing users to buy bandwidth from a global pool of service providers. To do this, Orchid uses a new digital currency called OXT, a new VPN protocol for incentivized bandwidth proxying, and smart-contracts with algorithmic advertising and payment functions. Orchid's users connect to bandwidth sellers using a provider directory, and they pay using probabilistic nanopayments so Ethereum transaction fees on packets are acceptably low.

  • Tahoe-LAFS - Tahoe-LAFS is a Free and Open decentralized cloud storage system. It distributes your data across multiple servers. Even if some of the servers fail or are taken over by an attacker, the entire file store continues to function correctly, preserving your privacy and security. [Maintained in 2020]

  • Nightweb - Nightweb was an app for Android devices and PCs that connects you to an anonymous, peer-to-peer social network. It is written in Clojure and uses I2P and BitTorrent on the backend.   • Tor Browser - The Tor Browser automatically starts Tor background processes and routes traffic through the Tor network. Upon termination of a session the browser deletes privacy-sensitive data such as HTTP cookies and the browsing history
