- ✅ User consent rate
- ✅ Documentation quality

This guide shares our real experience with each platform. No sponsored content, no affiliate links—just honest feedback from hands-on implementation experience.

## Our Test Results

Below you'll find a detailed analysis of each platform, ordered by market presence and functionality rather than ranking (see our final recommendations at the bottom).

---

## 1. **OneTrust**

🔗 [onetrust.com](https://www.onetrust.com)

### Description
OneTrust is the leading enterprise platform in the privacy and consent management sector. It offers a comprehensive solution that goes beyond a simple cookie banner.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ CCPA/CPRA (California)
- ✅ LGPD (Brazil)
- ✅ PIPEDA (Canada)
- ✅ ePrivacy Directive

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Medium-High complexity
- **Integration**: Tag Manager, JavaScript snippet
- **Setup time**: 2-5 days
- **Technical support**: Required for advanced configurations

### Pricing
- **Starter**: Custom pricing (typically from $10,000+/year)
- **Enterprise**: Custom quotes
- **Free trial**: Available upon request

### Ideal for
Large companies and multinationals with complex multi-jurisdictional compliance needs.

### Our Experience
OneTrust feels like bringing a tank to a fistfight. It's extremely powerful but overkill for most users. The platform is incredibly comprehensive, but we spent 2 full days just navigating the interface and understanding the features. For our test on a medium-sized e-commerce site, it seemed excessive. **The learning curve is steep and you'll likely need dedicated staff or consultants to manage it.**

## 2. **Iubenda**

🔗 [iubenda.com](https://www.iubenda.com)

### Description
Popular Italian solution in Europe, particularly appreciated for its simplicity and comprehensive support. It combines consent management with automatic privacy and cookie policy generation.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ CCPA (California)
- ✅ ePrivacy Directive
- ✅ LGPD (Brazil)

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Easy
- **Integration**: WordPress plugin, JavaScript snippet, native integrations
- **Setup time**: 5 hours
- **Technical support**: Guided, ideal for non-technical users

### Pricing
- **Essentials**: €4.99/month (25,000 views)
- **Advanced**: €19.99/month (50,000 views)
- **Ultimate**: €79.99/month (150,000 views)

### Ideal for
European SMEs, e-commerce, blogs, WordPress sites looking for a comprehensive and easy-to-use solution.

### Our Experience
Iubenda also offers other features beyond simple consent management. The automatic privacy policy generator saved us hours of legal writing. We tested it on three different WordPress sites and made them all compliant in less than 5 hours. The interface could be improved, although our non-technical client was able to customize the banner without calling us. **The downside? The price scales quickly with high traffic.**

---

## 3. **Cookiebot**

🔗 [cookiebot.com](https://www.cookiebot.com)

### Description
Cookiebot (part of the Usercentrics group) offers automatic cookie scanning and very accurate consent management. Recognized for its precision in cookie detection.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ CCPA (California)
- ✅ ePrivacy Directive
- ✅ Google Consent Mode v2

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Easy-Medium
- **Integration**: JavaScript snippet, CMS plugins
- **Setup time**: 1-3 hours
- **Technical support**: Automatic scanning reduces support needs

### Pricing
- **Premium Medium** (1-3 domains): €30/month per domain
- **Premium Small** (4+ domains): €15/month per domain
- Pricing based on number of detected subpages
- Note: Prices doubled in August 2025

### Ideal for
Companies that want accurate and automatic cookie scanning, with particular attention to the European market.

### Our Experience
Cookiebot's automatic scanning is genuinely impressive. We tested it on a complex site with over 40 third-party scripts, and it detected cookies that other platforms had missed. Categorization was 95% accurate right out of the box. What we loved: the scanner runs monthly and automatically notifies you of new cookies. Setup was smooth on both WordPress and a custom React app. **Beware though: in August 2025 they doubled prices (from €15 to €30/month for small sites), causing many complaints. The free plan is perfect for very small sites (under 50 pages), and paid plans remain competitive despite the increase. This has become our primary recommendation for non-WordPress sites.**

## 4. **Didomi**

🔗 [didomi.io](https://www.didomi.io)

### Description
French platform specialized in preference management and consent personalization. Very strong in the media and publishing sector.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ CCPA (California)
- ✅ TCF 2.2
- ✅ ePrivacy Directive

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Medium-High
- **Integration**: SDK, JavaScript, complete API
- **Setup time**: 3-7 days
- **Technical support**: Required for initial setup

### Pricing
- **Starter**: From €490/month
- **Professional**: From €990/month
- **Enterprise**: Custom pricing
- **Free trial**: 14 days available

### Ideal for
Publishers, media companies, medium-large e-commerce that want to personalize the user experience.

### Our Experience
Didomi is powerful but definitely built for publishers with development resources. We tested it on a content site with heavy advertising, and the TCF integration was flawless. However, setup took us almost a week and required custom JavaScript for some features. **Unless you're running a publisher site with advertising revenue to optimize, this is probably more complexity than you need. The price reflects the enterprise focus.**

## 5. **My Agile Privacy**

🔗 [myagileprivacy.com](https://www.myagileprivacy.com)

### Description
European privacy-focused CMP, designed for agility and ease of use. Offers a clean and lightweight solution particularly suitable for SMEs and agencies managing multiple client sites.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (EU and UK), nLPD / nFADP, PIPEDA, LGPD, CCPA / CPRA, CPA, CTDPA, DPDPA, MCDPA, MTCDPA, NDPA, NRS 603A, NHPA, NJDPA, OCPA, TIPA, TDPSA, UCPA VCDPA
- ✅ ePrivacy Directive
- ✅ Google Consent Mode v2
- ✅ TCF 2.3

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Very Easy
- **Integration**: WordPress plugin
- **Setup time**: less than 30 minutes
- **Technical support**: User-friendly interface, documentation available, customer assistance

### Pricing
- Starting from €24/year, flat rate (1 site)
- Very competitive prices compared to competitors

### Ideal for
Web agencies, SMEs, and WordPress users looking for a lightweight, privacy-first solution with multi-site management capabilities.

### Our Experience
My Agile Privacy doesn’t have the brand recognition of Cookiebot or OneTrust, but it absolutely punches above its weight for WordPress sites. We tested it on 8 different WordPress installations for an agency client, and the multi-site license paid for itself immediately. **The setup is foolproof, the performance impact is minimal (it didn’t slow down any of our test sites), very detailed policies are provided, and the price is unbeatable — starting at just €24/year, with no charges per page or per view. For WordPress in particular, this is the best value for money we’ve found. The only limitation is that it’s focused on WordPress.**

## 6. **Quantcast Choice**

🔗 [quantcast.com](https://www.quantcast.com)

### Description
Free CMP solution focused on publishers and sites participating in the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). Backed by Quantcast, a leader in ad tech.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ TCF 2.2
- ✅ ePrivacy Directive

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Medium
- **Integration**: JavaScript, CMS integrations
- **Setup time**: 2-4 hours
- **Technical support**: Technical documentation available

### Pricing
- **Free**: For IAB TCF certified publishers
- **Premium**: Custom pricing for additional features
- No hidden costs for basic compliance

### Ideal for
Publishers and advertising-based sites that want a free TCF-compliant solution.

### Our Experience
We tested Quantcast Choice on a tech blog with Google AdSense, and it worked perfectly. The TCF 2.2 integration is rock-solid, which makes sense given Quantcast's background in ad tech. Setup was straightforward, though the interface feels a bit dated compared to newer competitors. **If you run advertising and qualify for the free plan (you must be a registered IAB publisher), this is an obvious choice. But for non-publisher sites, there are more user-friendly options.**

## 7. **Osano**

🔗 [osano.com](https://www.osano.com)

### Description
American platform focused on ease of use for the North American market, with good support for GDPR as well. Very intuitive interface.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ CCPA/CPRA (California)
- ✅ Other US laws (Virginia, Colorado, etc.)

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Easy
- **Integration**: JavaScript snippet, native integrations
- **Setup time**: 1-2 hours
- **Technical support**: Guided interface, support available

### Pricing
- **Starter**: $0 (limited features, 1 domain)
- **Growth**: $199/month (up to 5 domains)
- **Business**: $299/month (unlimited domains)
- **Enterprise**: Custom pricing

### Ideal for
American SMEs or companies operating primarily in the US market with European customers.

### Our Experience
Setup was genuinely easy, and the consent widget looks modern and clean. We tested it on a SaaS product targeting US customers with some European users. It handled GDPR well while being optimized for the simpler CCPA requirements. **Great option if you're based in the US, but European companies will find better value with native EU solutions. The price is fair but not the cheapest.**

## 8. **Termly**

🔗 [termly.io](https://www.termly.io)

### Description
Affordable all-in-one solution that combines CMP with legal policy generator. Particularly popular among startups and small businesses.

### Regulatory Compliance
- ✅ GDPR (Europe)
- ✅ CCPA (California)
- ✅ Other US privacy laws

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Easy
- **Integration**: JavaScript snippet, WordPress/Shopify plugins
- **Setup time**: 30 minutes
- **Technical support**: Step-by-step guided setup

### Pricing
- **Free**: Basic features (1 website)
- **Pro**: $10/month (1 website)
- **Pro+**: $15/month (3 websites)
- **Business**: $100/month (unlimited websites)

### Ideal for
Startups, small businesses, Shopify e-commerce looking for an affordable and fast solution.

### Our Experience
Termly wins the speed award—we went from zero to compliant in 18 minutes on a Shopify store. The included privacy policy generator is basic but functional. However, we noticed that cookie scanning isn't as accurate as Cookiebot's; it missed a couple of third-party tracking scripts. For the price, it's hard to complain, and it gets you 80% of the way there. **Perfect for bootstrapped startups that need "good enough" compliance quickly. Just double-check cookie detection with a manual audit.**

---

## 9. **CookieYes**

🔗 [cookieyes.com](https://www.cookieyes.com)

### Description
Affordable and simple CMP, particularly popular in the WordPress world. Offers excellent value for money for small and medium businesses.

### Regulatory Compliance

- ✅ ePrivacy Directive
- ✅ Google Consent Mode v2

### Ease of Implementation
- **Level**: Easy
- **Integration**: WordPress plugin
- **Setup time**: 40 minutes
- **Technical support**: Automatic configuration for WordPress

### Pricing
- **Lite**: $10/month (100 pages, 1 site)
- **Pro**: $20/month (500 pages, 3 sites)
- **Agency**: $70/month (unlimited pages, 20 sites)

### Ideal for
WordPress sites, blogs, small e-commerce looking for an affordable and compliant solution.

### Our Experience
Setup took about 40 minutes. It's not as feature-rich as some competitors. **Good value for money, especially the agency plan if you manage multiple WordPress sites. It won't wow you, but it won't disappoint either.**

---

## Our Recommendation: The Two Best Choices

After analyzing all the options, we recommend focusing on just **two solutions** that cover 95% of use cases:

### 🥇 **For WordPress Sites: My Agile Privacy**

- **Native WordPress integration**: Built specifically for WordPress, not a generic solution
- **Multi-site support**: Perfect for agencies managing multiple client sites
- **Lightweight and fast**: Doesn't slow down your site like heavier solutions
- **Privacy-first approach**: Made in Europe, native GDPR design
- **Easy setup**: 30 minutes to full compliance, no technical knowledge required

**Perfect for:**
- WordPress blogs and business sites
- Web agencies managing client portfolios
- WooCommerce e-commerce, even very large ones
- Anyone prioritizing speed and simplicity
- You run a publisher with TCF requirements

**Avoid if:**
- You need mobile app support (web only)

---

- **Scalable pricing**: From €15/month (for 4+ domains) to enterprise, grows with you
- **Proven reliability**: Used by thousands of companies worldwide
- **Great documentation**: Easy to implement even for non-technical users
- **Note**: Prices increased in 2025, but remains competitive

**Perfect for:**
- Custom-built websites
- Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, or other platforms
- Companies planning to scale
- Multi-platform presence (web + mobile)

**Avoid if:**
