Essential Utilities Written in Zig
zig-utils aims to be a collection of small, easy to maintain,
written in zig essential utilities. The goal is have a
collection of core utilities written in a programming language
made for robust, optimal and reusable software.
The following utilities are implemented and should work as
expected:
- echo, display a line of text
- false, do nothing unsuccessfully
- hostname, show system hostname
- touch, change file timestamps
- true, do nothing successfully
- yes, output a string repeatedly until killed

This is the first of (hopefully) many projects I will do in Zig
and it also serves as a stepping stone for me to learn the
language. If you find a bug, please submit a pull request and I
will get to it eventually.
If you don't know about Zig, I highly recommend watching "The
Road to Zig 1.0", a talk given by Andrew Kelley at a conference
in April 2019 : https://youtu.be/Gv2I7qTux7g
That talk is the reason why I fell in love with the language
and I really want to see it reach 1.0 in the near future, I
hope you'll find it as interesting as I do.
