# Unused methods
Find unused methods from rails/ruby application
## Installation
Add this line to the application's Gemfile:
```ruby
gem 'unused_methods', git: "https://github.com/abhirampai/unused_methods", branch: "main"
```If bundler is not being used to manage dependencies, install the gem by executing:
$ gem install unused_methods
And then run the checker:
$ bundle exec unused_methods check app/**/*.rb## Features
- Open in vscode - open the file in vscode, override the prefix in unchecked methods to open the code in prefered editor.## Usage in development
Clone the repo and follow the steps
Build the gem
$ gem build unused_methods.gemspec
Install the gem
$ gem install ./unused_methods-0.1.0.gem
Run the executables
$ bin/unused_methods check app/**/*.rb## Development
After checking out the repo, run `bin/setup` to install dependencies. Then, run `rake spec` to run the tests. You can also run `bin/console` for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run `bundle exec rake install`. To release a new version, update the version number in `version.rb`, and then run `bundle exec rake release`, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and the created tag, and push the `.gem` file to [rubygems.org](https://rubygems.org).
