## Introduction
[Ishaan](https://github.com/ishaan14112000)'s father works in the medical equipment sales sector and lately with the sudden re-spread of COVID, he had been getting strange requests- people with low income were asking if they could borrow or rent equipment which are otherwise expensive.
We thought about this and it actually made sense. Why buy something expensive which you'll only use a few times or for a few months?

## About Medicist
Medicist is a cross platform web and mobile app where users can rent important equipment during the pandemic as well as get medical assistance and help.
## How it works
- Let's say someone in your locality got tested positive and you want to check your oxygen saturation using a pulse oximeter, you can just open the app and choose the product and rent it.
- You will need to pay the amount in advance which would include a caution deposit, in case you damage the device. This amount will be either settled (if you damage the device) or refunded (if the device is still in working condition) when you return the device.
- You can come back to the rented products section on our application and return the product when you feel all is good and your locality has now shown resistance to more COVID cases. The devices will be sanitised before being available again.
- In case you are sick and need help, you may schedule video conferences with nurses and doctors to help you out online.
- You may also choose to book a nurse to visit you at your place.
- Before calling them to your place, you can interact with them over a video call and only call them if you feel they are friendly and will gel well with you.

## Target audience
- People who are conscious and scared but don't want to invest too much money will find this helpful.
- Nurses and doctors will get another medium to be more approachable and connect with patients.
- Low income group people staying in hotspots.
## Marketing and business model
- A lot of contacts in the market are ready to fund our application owing to the surge of strange requests.
- This will help us not only get funding but also recognition and trust in the medical sector.
- This will ensure that sales teams start adopting the renting mode of _selling_ equipment.
- This will help make approaching doctors and nurses easier as there'll already be a good market name to work for.
- We will charge minor commissions from doctors and nurses everytime they get called home.
- Nurse interaction before calling home will be free of cost.
- First doctor consultation online will be free and then coupon business model will be implemented (similar to how Zomato works).
- Commissions will be charged upon all rented products.

- **Deployment:** Heroku and Netlify
- **Web Conferencing**: Dyte

## Requirements
- The source code of this project is written in **`ReactJS`** and **`GoLang`**. So, you need to install `Node.js` & `Go` to run this project.
- We use the [Dyte SDK](https://dyte.in/) for Web RTC so you need to create an account there and keep all their tokens and API keys ready.
