# Static 3D Mesh Model.

![Static 3D Mesh Model.](staticMeshModel-darkGold.png)

This demo application belongs to the set of examples for LightningChart JS, data visualization library for JavaScript.

LightningChart JS is entirely GPU accelerated and performance optimized charting library for presenting massive amounts of data. It offers an easy way of creating sophisticated and interactive charts and adding them to your website or web application.

The demo can be used as an example or a seed project. Local execution requires the following steps:

- Make sure that relevant version of [Node.js](https://nodejs.org/en/download/) is installed
- Open the project folder in a terminal:

npm install # fetches dependencies
npm start # builds an application and starts the development server

- The application is available at _http://localhost:8080_ in your browser, webpack-dev-server provides hot reload functionality.

## Description

Example showcasing LightningChart 3D model visualization using Mesh Model Chart.

To create a Mesh Model chart, you can use the following line of code:

```javascript
const meshModel = chart3D.addMeshModel()
```

To render a 3D mesh model on this chart, you need to prepare the necessary data, including vertices, indices, and optionally, normals. These data can come from any 3D modeling software, such as Blender or similar tools.

In our examples, we consistently export 3D models to the .OBJ file format. To process this data into the required normals, vertices, and indices, we rely on built-in LightningChart JS model parsing.

Once you've got your 3D model data ready in the correct format, you can easily render your model on the Mesh Model chart. This is done by using the '.setModelFromObj' function, as demonstrated in the following code:

```javascript
meshModel.setModelFromObj(objString)
```
