## Removal rate
Dry weight of algae generally ranges between 90-250mg of dry weight per liter. [[1](http://www.fao.org/3/W3732E/w3732e06.htm)]
Based on this it's estimated that it would take 200x200x1m of algae growing volume to remove the 1000 tonnes of carbon per year required by the XPRIZE.
