# What
This is a python library to help build Linux profiles for volatility.
# Quickstart Use
Support for more distributions are in the works. To run, simply do:

$ volatility_profile_builder centos

Follow the prompts to select the version, then wait and your profile will be output to `profiles` directory under your current working directory.
# Installation
This is a python package. Installation via pypi:
```bash
pip install volatility_profile_builder
```
Or locally
```bash
pip install .
```
# Dependencies
This process relies on docker for the build environment. Be sure to have docker installed.
# FAQ
## Why is my build failing?
Could be many reasons. However, one gotcha with this build process is that is relies on the OS having a working repository. If you're attempting to build using this for an OS that does __not__ have a working repo (such as old versions of Ubuntu), install will fail and then build will fail.
