# Coronavirus: Firms face 'inexcusable' delay over lockdown grants
In April 2020 we [reported](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-52416823) that about half of companies eligible for emergency coronavirus grants had not yet received funding.
The story drew on [data from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-grant-funding-local-authority-payments-to-small-and-medium-businesses), with further questions to Rutland and changes to those figures based on replies.
