In March 2017 we [reported](http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-39303187) on new research that suggested men working in the lowest-skilled occupations and women in culture and health jobs are at the highest risk of suicide.

> "*The standardised mortality ratio (SMR) is a common measure of mortality. When the value is greater than 100, the risk of suicide is higher than that in the broader population of England. When the value is less than 100, the risk of suicide is lower than that in the broader population. Please note, findings based on the SMR cannot be used to infer causality.*"
