# Project status

This dictionary contains Chinese glosses where a gloss is available from the
biblical text database. Where a gloss is not available, an English gloss
has beein included. Updates and submissions are welcome as long as you are
committed to the data being free and public domain.

# Base data source

This dictionary is a revised version of the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. These revisions include:

- English definitions have been revised for modern English langauge conventions. Older English words have been replaced with modern equivalents. A conservative effort to has been made to clarify English gender where appropriate. i.e. ἄνθρωπος is updated to include the glosses "man, person, mankind, human"
- Defintions have been split or merged based upon modern lingustic understanding of Koine Greek.
- The dictionary has been slightly expanded to include some vocabulary that appears outside of the New Testament to support other Koine Era Greek text. This includes support for Athanaze.

# File format

- Word: contains either:
- The verb form.
- The noun, including genitive ending and article.
- The adjective, and alternate feminine and/or neuter endings
- Alternate spellings: A comma separated list of alternate spellings. For example: Ἰερουσαλήμ, Ἱεροσόλυμα
- Transliteration into English.
- Gloss: Chinese gloss. English displayed where Chinese is not available.
- Strongs: One or more strongs numbers this entry maps to.

# Rules of content submission

Submitters must agree that the content they are submitting is being submitted
to the Biblical Text Institute under the rules of the 'CC0 1.0 Universal
Public Domain Dedication'. Submitters must warrant that they have the
legal authority to submit under this license.
