NOTE: the code here is out of date, this original patch is now included in the latest Hadoop distributions.

Please see the sub-directories for information. 

Currently this project maintains one submitted patch to Hadoop under the fixedLengthInputFormat folder. Please

review the README.txt within there for more details, or just go to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MAPREDUCE-1176

The version it was created for was the 0.20.x line,

should be fairly easy to update for 0.23.x+
