# GSoD-proposals-2019
This repository contains the proposed Google Season of Docs projects. Please see [announcement](announcement.md) for details about GSoD.
## About Common Workflow Langugae
The [Common Workflow Language](https://www.commonwl.org/) (CWL) is a specification for describing analysis workflows and tools in a way that makes them portable and scalable across a variety of software and hardware environments, from workstations to cluster, cloud, and high performance computing (HPC) environments. CWL is designed to meet the needs of data-intensive science, such as Bioinformatics, Medical Imaging, Astronomy, Physics, and Chemistry.
## For potential applicants
Welcome! Thanks for considering doing a project with CWL. Please look through the available projects in this repo and contact the mentors. Feel free to propose your own projects too!
Proposals:
- [Add background information about scientific workflow system](scientific-workflow-system/scientific-workflow-system.md)
- [Compile BioStar questions into FAQs](turn-biostar-questions-into-faq/biostar.md)
Ideas:
- Furnish general documentation
- Expand the user guide
- Documentation of other projects in the ecosystem
## For mentor
If you have a project in mind and want to volunteer to become a mentor please fork this repo, add information about your proposed project in a new directory and start a pull request.
