# Emissions Data Reports

This repository contains a few datapoints derived from publicly available sustainability data, predominantly that released by companies.

The data was gathered for a specific data visualisation and is open-sourced purely for the purpose of data-sharing. No warranty is offered as to the validity of any data shared, although each entry has been checked to the best of the author's abilities.

## Example Monetisations

The International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI) recently released a Global Value Factors Database (GVFD) including - among other valuations - a suggested monetisation for GHG emissions at a flat rate of $236 (US dollars per tonne of carbon estimated).

Given that the reporting units in the sustainability reports referenced is MtCO2e (million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent) the multiplier - for the purpose of the monetisation estimates is - is `236,000,000` (236 *million*).
