## ๐Ÿ”ง Configuration

The application uses environment variables for configuration. Key settings include:

### Required

- `SECRET_KEY`: Secret key for JWT tokens
- `DATABASE_URL`: PostgreSQL connection string
- `REDIS_URL`: Redis connection string

### Optional

- `DEBUG`: Enable debug mode
- `LOG_LEVEL`: Logging level (INFO, DEBUG, WARNING, ERROR)
- `ALPHA_VANTAGE_API_KEY`: Alpha Vantage API key for market data
- `NEWS_API_KEY`: News API key for news articles
- `TWITTER_BEARER_TOKEN`: Twitter API bearer token

## ๐Ÿงช Development

### Running Tests

```bash
# Install development dependencies
uv sync --group dev
# Run tests
pytest
# Run with coverage
pytest --cov=app
```

### Code Quality

```bash
# Format code
black app/
# Sort imports
isort app/
# Type checking
mypy app/
# Linting
flake8 app/
```

### Pre-commit Hooks

```bash
# Install pre-commit hooks
pre-commit install
```

## ๐Ÿณ Docker Deployment

### Using Docker Compose

```bash
# Build and start services
docker-compose up -d
# View logs
docker-compose logs -f
# Stop services
docker-compose down
```

### Start Advanced Frontend (after containers are up)

```bash
# Option A: Launch via helper script (uses port 8501)
python run_advanced_frontend.py
# Option B: Launch directly with Streamlit
streamlit run frontend/advanced_streamlit_app.py --server.port 8501
```

The frontend connects to the backend at `http://localhost:8000` by default (exposed by Compose). See `frontend/README.md` for details and configuration options.

### Manual Docker Build

```bash
# Build image
docker build -t opentrend .
# Run container
docker run -p 8000:8000 --env-file .env opentrend
```
