**The ultimate save file editor for Fallout Shelter**



A user-friendly, browser-based tool to edit and enhance your Fallout Shelter experience. No installation required – just open in your browser and start editing!

## 🚀 Getting Started



### Quick Start (3 Easy Steps)



1. **Open the Editor**

   - Download this project or visit the hosted version

   - Open `index.html` in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)



2. **Load Your Save File**

   - Click "📁 Upload Save File"

   - Find your Fallout Shelter save file:

     - **Windows**: `C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\FalloutShelter\`

     - **Mac**: `~/Library/Application Support/FalloutShelter/`

     - **Mobile**: Use a file manager app to locate saves

   - Supports `.sav`, `.dat`, and `.json` files



3. **Edit & Download**

   - Click through the tabs to edit different parts of your vault

   - Make your changes

   - Click "💾 Download Save" when done

   - Replace your original save file (backup first!)

## 🎮 How to Use Each Tab



### 🏛️ Vault Tab

Edit your vault's basic information and resources.



**What You Can Do:**

- Change vault name and number

- Add unlimited Caps (currency)

- Set Food, Water, and Power to any amount

- Modify medical supplies (Stimpacks, RadAway)

- Add Lunchboxes, Mr. Handies, and Pet Carriers

- View total room count and resource storage



**Quick Actions:**

- **Unlock All Rooms**: Instantly unlock all room types

- **Unlock All Themes**: Get all 9 vault decorative themes

- **Clear All Emergencies**: Stop all fires, radroach attacks, etc.

### 👥 Dwellers Tab

Manage every dweller in your vault.



**What You Can Do:**

- Edit names (first and last)

- Change gender and appearance (skin color, hair color)

- Set all 7 SPECIAL stats (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck)

- Modify level (1-50) and experience points

- Adjust health, max health, and radiation

- Set happiness (0-100%)

- Equip weapons and outfits from 400+ items



**Quick Actions:**

- **Max All Stats**: Set all dwellers to 10 in every SPECIAL stat

- **Max Happiness**: Set all dwellers to 100% happiness

- **Heal All**: Remove all radiation and restore full health

### Safety First

- **Always backup your original save file** before making changes

- Use the built-in validation to check for errors before downloading

- Review the change history to track what was modified



### Legal & Ethical Use

### File Compatibility

- Supports `.sav` (encrypted game files)

- Supports `.dat` (encrypted game files)

- Supports `.json` (plain text for editing)

- Downloads in both encrypted (.sav) and plain (.json) formats

## 🛠️ Troubleshooting



### My file won't load

- **Check the file format**: Make sure it's a Fallout Shelter save file

- **Try both formats**: If `.sav` doesn't work, try exporting as `.json` first

- **Check file size**: Corrupted saves may be 0 bytes or unusually small



### Changes aren't saving

- Click the **"💾 Download Save"** button (browser can't modify files directly)

- Choose format: `.sav` for in-game use, `.json` for further editing

- Replace your original save file with the downloaded one



### Game doesn't recognize my edited save

- Make sure you saved as `.sav` format (encrypted)

- Keep the original filename

- Place it in the correct save folder

- Restart the game completely



### Validation warnings appear

- Read the warnings carefully

- Minor warnings are usually safe to ignore

- Critical errors may corrupt your save – fix before downloading

1. **Start Small**: Make one or two changes first to ensure everything works

2. **Use Statistics**: Check vault stats before and after changes to verify updates

3. **Track Changes**: Use the Change History button to see what you modified

4. **Test Downloads**: Download as `.json` first to review changes, then as `.sav` for the game

5. **Keep Backups**: The editor auto-creates one backup, but keep your own copies too

6. **Search Feature**: Use the search box (🔍) to find specific data quickly
