## What is CarrotCam?
CarrotCam turns your Android phone into a high-quality webcam for your Windows PC. Connect via **USB** (fastest) or **WiFi** (no cables), and use your phone camera in Discord, Zoom, OBS, Teams, and any app that supports a webcam.
### Virtual Camera Driver
CarrotCam installs a **virtual camera driver** on your PC, so your phone shows up as a real webcam device. Apps see it just like any other camera — no special integration needed.

## Download
### Windows Desktop App
Download the latest `CarrotCam-win64.zip` from the [Releases page](https://github.com/DG-925/CarrotCam/releases/latest).
1. Extract the zip to any folder
2. Run `CarrotCam.exe`
3. Install the virtual camera driver from the sidebar (one-time, requires admin)
### Android App
Download the latest `CarrotCam.apk` from the [Releases page](https://github.com/DG-925/CarrotCam/releases/latest).
> You'll need to enable "Install from unknown sources" for your file manager or browser when installing.

## Getting Started
1. **Install** the desktop app on your PC and the APK on your phone
2. **Open** CarrotCam on both devices (they must be on the same WiFi network for wireless)
3. **Select** USB or WiFi on the desktop app
4. **Connect** — your phone camera will appear as a webcam on your PC
5. **Use it** — open Discord, Zoom, OBS, or any video app and select "CarrotCam" as your camera
### USB Setup
USB mode requires [ADB (Android Debug Bridge)](https://developer.android.com/tools/adb). CarrotCam bundles ADB — just enable **USB Debugging** on your phone and connect via USB cable.
### WiFi Setup
WiFi mode works automatically — both devices just need to be on the same network. The desktop app will discover your phone automatically.

## Auto-Updates
CarrotCam checks for updates on startup. When a new version is available, a green button appears in the sidebar. Click to download and install — the app restarts automatically.
