[GDELT is now hosted on Google BigQuery](http://googlecloudplatform.blogspot.com/2014/05/worlds-largest-event-dataset-now-publicly-available-in-google-bigquery.html) too, where you can instantly analyze the dataset without the need of downloading anything. Check some resources:
