# College Algebra Jupyter Notebook Templates
Welcome to the College Algebra Jupyter Notebook Templates! This repository provides a structured set of Jupyter notebook templates designed to help you learn and solve problems in college algebra. Each template includes sections with LaTeX examples for mathematical notation and practical problem-solving exercises.
I use VS Code to edit and view notebooks, however there are many options.## Getting Started
To use these templates, follow the steps below:
### Setting Up a Virtual Environment
1. **Create a Virtual Environment:**
```sh
python -m venv myenv
```### Prerequisites
Ensure you have the following installed on your system:
- Python 3.6 or higher
2. **Activate the Virtual Environment:**
- On Windows:
```sh
myenv\Scripts\activate
```
- On macOS and Linux:
```sh
source myenv/bin/activate
```3. **Install Jupyter and Matplotlib:**
```sh
pip install jupyter matplotlib
```4. **Clone the Repository:**
```sh
git clone
cd
```5. **Start Jupyter Notebook:**
```sh
jupyter notebook
```6. **Or, use VS Code.**
```sh
Install extensions for python and jupyter notebooks.

## Template Structure
Each template covers different topics in college algebra. Here is the structure and explanation of the sections included:
### 1. Basic Algebraic Operations
Perform basic algebraic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of algebraic expressions.
**LaTeX Examples:**
- Addition: $a + b$
- Subtraction: $a - b$
- Multiplication: $a \times b$ or $a \cdot b$
- Division: $\frac{a}{b}$
- Exponentiation: $a^b$
- Square Root: $\sqrt{a}$
- Fraction: $\frac{a}{b}$
- Parentheses: $(a + b)$**Example: Simplify an Expression**
Simplify the following expression: $(2x + 3) - (x - 5)$**Solution:**
To simplify, distribute the negative sign and combine like terms:
$$(2x + 3) - (x - 5) = 2x + 3 - x + 5 = x + 8$$### 2. Solving Equations and Inequalities
