# ARE WE IDIOCRACY YET?

> *"I like money."* — Frito Pendejo

**[idiocracy.wtf](https://idiocracy.wtf)** tracks how dangerously close our timeline is to Mike Judge's 2006 documentary... sorry, *comedy film* about a future where humanity has gotten so dumb that a perfectly average guy becomes the smartest person on the planet.

Turns out the movie was 20 years early, not 500.

## What Is This, Scrote?

The **Idiocracy Proximity Index** is a carefully calibrated, peer-reviewed*, scientifically rigorous** measurement of how close reality has drifted toward the world of President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

Each comparison card puts a prediction from the film side-by-side with something that actually happened. In the real world. Where we all live. On purpose, apparently.

Categories include **Politics**, **Corporate**, **Entertainment**, **Education**, **Healthcare**, **Environment**, **Science**, **Justice**, and **Culture** — because the decline is *comprehensive*.

*Not peer-reviewed.
**Not scientifically rigorous. But neither is anything else anymore, so.

## Highlights From The Proximity Index

- **A reality TV star became president** — Camacho was a wrestler and porn star, so we're arguably *ahead of schedule*
- **Brands now openly insult their customers** — Carl's Jr.: "F*** you, I'm eating." Wendy's Twitter: hold my Frosty
- **Corporate universities are replacing real ones** — Costco law degrees were a joke. Google Career Certificates are not
- **IQ scores are actually declining** — A 2023 Northwestern study confirmed the reversal. Brawndo stocks are rising
- **Pain-based content dominates entertainment** — "Ow My Balls!" was satire. TikTok made it a genre
- **An algorithm decides what you think** — The Violence Channel didn't need a channel. It got a feed

## The Verdict Scale

| Score | Verdict |
|-------|---------|
| 0-25% | We're fine. Probably. |
| 26-50% | Huh. That's... concerning. |
| 51-75% | OK this is getting weird. |
| 76-84% | We're basically there. |
| 85%+ | **WE'RE ALREADY THERE, SCROTE** |

## Why Does This Exist?

Because in 2006, Mike Judge made a movie about a future where people water crops with sports drinks, the most popular show on TV is a guy getting hit in the nuts, and the President solves problems by firing a machine gun into the ceiling.

And then all of that started happening.

Someone had to keep score.
