# Edakkal Caves Ticket Booking System
Welcome to the Edakkal Caves Ticket Booking System Documentation Repository! This comprehensive project, developed in collaboration with the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) and BitSmart - the Incubation & Innovation Cell at Mary Matha Arts & Science College, Mananthavady, aims to streamline and enhance the visitor experience to the historical Edakkal Caves in Wayanad, Kerala.
## About Edakkal Caves
Situated 1,200 meters above sea level on Ambukutty Mala, Edakkal Caves boast natural wonders and historical significance. The caves, located 25 km from Kalpetta, reveal pictorial writings dating back to at least 6,000 BCE. These Neolithic-era carvings provide a glimpse into the region's prehistoric settlement, making Edakkal Caves a unique archaeological site.
## Project Overview
### Technologies Used
- **Admin App (Flutter & Firebase):** Developed as a mobile application, this tool empowers DTPC agents to efficiently manage bookings on-site, ensuring a smooth experience for visitors.
- **User Portal (ReactJS & Firebase):** The web application serves as the primary interface for tourists to book tickets. Integrated with Razorpay for secure payments, the User Portal offers an intuitive booking process.
### Project Structure
The project is divided into two main components:
1. **Admin App:**
- Built with Flutter & Firebase.
- Enables DTPC agents to manage bookings seamlessly.
- On-site ticket verification for a hassle-free experience.
2. **User Portal:**
- Web application developed with ReactJS & Firebase.
- Utilizes Razorpay for secure and efficient payment processing.
- Features a user-friendly landing page with cave details and a booking page for a convenient ticket reservation process.
### Booking Details
- Users can book tickets for a maximum of 10 adults.
- Accommodation for 10 children (aged 5 to 12) can be included in each booking.
- Flexible selection of visit date and time for user convenience.
## How to Use
1. **Admin App:**
- Install the Flutter application on your mobile device.
- Log in with authorized credentials.
- Manage and verify bookings on-site.
2. **User Portal:**
- Visit the web application.
- Explore details about Edakkal Caves on the landing page.
- Easily book tickets for your desired date and time using Razorpay for secure transactions.
## Project Origin
Initiated by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Wayanad, the project found its home at Mary Matha Arts & Science College, Mananthavady. Under the guidance of faculty members, students played a pivotal role in the development of both the Admin App and the User Portal.
